God created us and knows infinitely more than we know. He knows what is best for us, and what would not be good for us. If you have children, when they were very small, sometimes they asked for things that would not be good for them, or would harm them. For good reasons sometimes parents do not always give their children what they ask for, when they ask for it. Parents give them what is best for them.
It is the same way in our prayers to God. God gives us what is best for us. We are God’s children and He gives us what is best for us, and at a time when it is best for us. Our lives must be right with God before He can answer our prayers. The heart must be open to the Spirit’s influence, or God’s blessing cannot be received. One cannot pour water into a cup that is already full. think that prayer is the response to God's action in my life and his presence in my heart, just as the earth's existence is a response to the sun's.

That same line of reasoning for unanswered prayers can be used for any unanswered prayer, not just about money. Last edited by sabby; Oct 16, 2015 at 01:58 PM. Reason: administrative edit to bring within guidelines |

You haven't received any guidance and help? Are you forgetting here at PsychCentral? God can use even this website!
![]() ![]() As for gambling... well that's a pretty grey area imo. Ask God to open your eyes and heart to the help that is around you...and to comfort you in tough times. ![]()

I've considered looking into other beliefs, which is the same God but a slightly different path.. maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I know God wants me to be happy, but being a slave isn't what he wants for me either. Last edited by sabby; Oct 16, 2015 at 02:00 PM. Reason: administrative edit to bring within guidelines |

Just a gentle reminder about the specific guideline in this forum which states the following:
Quote:
Thank you! |

Keep talking to God... He hears you...it's usually us who fail to become quiet and still enough to listen.

I remember you posted in the forum before, about not wanting to be a slave and asking for help. I can accept that my reply to you back then may not have helped. I hope it's ok to try again. I remember you talked about having a free spirit, and wanting to make your own craft beer, and you said something about making your own hot sauce recipe. I think those are awesome ideas. One thing I've learned, good ideas come and good ideas go. If you fail to act on them, someone else will. Why is it so hard? I could write a book about that and believe me, there are reasons and no, you aren't too ignorant to understand them. One reason things are hard is this thing called competition. In some ways, our society is a fear based society. It's based on the fear that there isn't enough of everything to go around for everyone. So, we have competition. The best get the best. In truth, of the things we really need to live, there is plenty to go around, but, we have already built this society this way and that's the way it is. Sure, it could change, you could change it, but, it's pretty hard to do alone and many people are satisfied with the way things are so, it's better not to ask why it's hard, it's better to just accept, that for now, it is hard. To make it as an entrepreneur you need several factors working in your favor. You mentioned some in your original thread about this. Yes, it's hard, but, it's not impossible. You sound like one of the people for whom ordinary just isn't good enough. That's ok. It takes all kinds to make society work. It begins to not be ok when you start to blame yourself that you aren't doing better or blame God that it doesn't care. If there is a God, trust me, it cares, it just may not be able to give you what you want. That's where personal willpower comes in. If you want it bad enough, you have to try and achieve it. Pray to God for strength, by asking, you inadvertently open yourself to the idea of receiving it. Another thing you can do is meditate on your goal. Really envision it. What does it feel like? What does it look like? How do you feel when the goal is achieved. By doing those things, you prepare yourself for accepting success when it happens. Last but most important, get out and make it happen. Study how others succeeded, emulate them. practice their manners, their speech, their behavior. If it worked for them, they must have done something right. You can too. |

So the easiest way for me, at least is fill your head with positive affirmations. "everything comes to me easily and effortlessly". Repeat is over and over and smile when you say it, and believe when you say it, and picture more good coming into your life. Now the lotto issue. I believe as much as I want to win, and need the money and deserve the money, that is not the path I am to take, although it would be AWESOME, right? I just broke my foot, and now will lose my job. I am not married, I have no savings...I first thought "really?" but that got me nowhere. Let's see where this journey takes us. |

alchemy makes some good points in his/her reply.
If you want good stuff to happen, you have to make it happen. |

Don't worry I've asked for lotto numbers before it didn't work either. Sometimes people offer gudience but are you trying to find what God wants for your life? We have choices to make andwe can't just set our lives on autopilot. I hope you make the right decision for yourself. Sometimes God pushes us in the right direction. I hope when God responds to you, you will know where to go.
