This is an excerpt from a devotional book a friend sent me for Christmas, Streams in the Desert:

"Feed on his faithfulness." Psalm 37:3

I once met a poor woman, who earned a precarious living by hard daily labor, but who was a joyous triumphant Christian.

Tomorrow's bridge is a dangerous thing;
I dare not cross it now.
I can see its timbers sway and swing...
O heart, you must hope always;
You must sing and trust and say:
I'll bear the sorrow that comes tomorrow
But I'll borrow none today.

Paraphrased... "Worry not about tomorrow. Today has enough trouble of its own." This put things back in focus for me...

Those are words to live by, EJ! This put things back in focus for me... Thank you for reminding us!

Hi September Morn and Friends,

It was also the part about "Feeding on his faithfulness". I love the hymn, "Great is His Faithfulness".

I have been spending too much time focusing on the precariousness of our financial situation, since losing my $58,000/yr. position five years ago.

God has been faithful to me since then, as He has ALL my life. I haven't gone hungry, and have been able to pay the majority of my bills, albeit a bit more slowly than I used to.

"Morning by morning, new mercies I see.
All that I've needed Your hand has provided.
Great is Thy Faithfulness,
Lord unto me."

Have a great day!

EJ
