I have been trying to reconcile my beliefs.. I was wondering what you all think God thinks of people who compulsively sin? Whats in their future? Is that ok to ask here?

i think its ok to ask anything here myself... the comunity will let you know whats inappropriate... i wonder what God thinks of me trying to answer though... oh well, i am a sinner...

i think God understands that no human is perfect and loves us anyway... i think God would like us all to try and be more in the likeness... when we fail, maybe something like compassion or empathy... after all, God made us...

i think as humans we should try to minimize our sins, be better to each other, learn to live in a loving and caring world instead of one composed of greed and other base sins... if we do God can concentrate on more pressing issues... interesting question

I think there are few sins that are "fixed in cement" and I think compulsions can be helpful to us sometimes, serve a "healthy" purpose. I think God is all for our health and well-being and does not judge us "sinful" nearly as much as we might. Where something we judge to be sinful helps us, I don't think God judges it sinful.

Isaiah 55:8 -- For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

i believe there is no sin so great that God does not forgive. if you look at the story of Moses for instance. when he saw the Egyptian man beating his two brethren (hebrews), he was so angered he killed the man. later in his life, God used Moses to be a great leader and he lead 3 million people out of egyptian bondage.

all sin is forgiven if we confess it with a sincere heart and ask forgiveness.

that is my belief.

i believe that the sin is forgiven ... sometimes we have an tendancy to sin all the time ... That is used to teach us in some ways .... different challenges ... different events are used to shape us ....

I call it going around the mountain again ..... I repent for my sins and I know next time that im challenged that i will get it right again ...

sometimes we are not permitted our promises when we continually sin but in end time we shall have our harvest

just my opinion

EV, what do you mean by compulsive sin? Are you talking about OCD? Most people with OCD tend to be overly conscientious and to go out of their way to avoid sin or any harm to anyone, although they worry constantly that they are doing something bad and have to atone for it. So, they might feel like they are sinning when really they aren't. I don't know what kind of sin you are talking about though, or if what I wrote is close to what you mean.

I believe that God will always take into consideration our ability, and that He is loving and understanding. He also knows what we are capable of and isn't going to put us in situations that we can't find our way through. He does expect us to do what we can, and then He will help us and make up the difference. So we do have a responsibility to break bad habits and improve ourselves as much as we can.

According to my religious upbringing, we are all sinners and as long as you repent and are heartily sorry for the sin, all is forgiven. If the Justice system makes an exception for illness, I'm sure that that the kind, loving, just God we all know and love does as well. He created each of us as we are.

It is a human weakness to find difficulty in forgiving and forgetting, not a divine one. Once the sin is forgiven, it is forgotten, the slate wiped clean.

thank you all. at my church groing up, I was taught that if you repetitively sin, that you wouldnt get forgiveness. and it could be a sign that you werent saved.

I gues thats why i wondered about this.

my mother always taught me, that in the Christian religion, one only needed to accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your personal saviour, if done, entry to Heaven is guranteed... i'm sure this is the fat-trimmed version of a more complex idea, but, she says it's all one needs to know...

I'm not sure what sin you are referring to, but I don't consider myself a "sinner." I've made and probably will continue make mistakes in life. But my faith in God is very strong and I trust that he will show me a way to help correct my mistakes. After I've corrected my mistake, I'm forgiven. If I've made a mistake in thinking I've been forgiven, I'll just have to wait until I die and God can explain it to me face to face.

A native friend posted this recently. We may not follow the same religion, but apparently we're on the same page when it comes to living life....

"The way we face life's challenges is what gives meaning to our lives. If we run from our mistakes, they follow us. If we stand up and work with them, we learn. Facing our mistakes teaches us wisdom and courage. Our self-respect grows. Spiritual growth means asking, "How would my Higher Power want me to deal with this mistake?" Then we listen for the answer and do what is needed. The better we get at facing our mistakes, the better we become at learning from them. American Indian's culture teaches us that all mistakes in life are gifts. The gift is that we are given a chance to learn.
Great Spirit, please help me face the mistakes of life and find the lessons that lie within them. When I make a mistake, I'll stop and ask, 'What does the Creator want me to learn from this?'"
