well, thats cool..... theres probably more to the story.......

the Trappists are very interesting to me... please expound?

i have read a little Merton, but by no measure all... i like the reading and ideas ....

I went to a retreat for my BLS degree at the Abbey of Gethsamne in Kentucky.....The monk, I think his name was Brother Jacob, had a long sermon (not sure if thats what its called) on worshiping false idols.....for instance, if your into making money and buying expensive things, then you cannot worship God and put all your effort into other pursuits...pretty heavy stuff....
