My son's orders have been changed once again. He WILL be going to Iraq next month. He was fitted for his flak vest yesterday, and he will be stationed at a base outside of Baghdad that receives regular mortar attacks. He's scheduled to be there for 6 months, maybe more. I won't be able to breathe until he comes home from that place.
 May I ask for prayers for his safe return? It feels selfish to ask for prayers only for my son, so would you also include prayers for the safe return of all our men and women who are involved in this ugly war? Thank you. |

Please know that you, your son and all families that have loved ones in areas of violence, are in my prayers. I am so sorry that you and other families must go through this..... Take care and keep us posted.

Thank you. The sailors at his base are usually deployed to either Japan or the Philippines - not the DESERT. He was chosen from a group to go to Iraq. He holds no ill will, fear or hatred towards the people of Iraq. When he was young, I had a very dear friend from Iraq. We knew how much she loved her homeland, and we know she still has family over there.
I don't know how anyone can cheer over this war. I realize he has to follow orders, but I had him first. My orders have always been to cause no harm. If he's forced to do so or if he's killed or maimed, it will destroy us both. |

Sending up prayers for you and your son. I can't even begin to imagine the difficulty of your situation as a mother or the helplesness you must feel. My heart goes out to you both and to all families like yours. blessings recluse1 |
