I go to a Shambhala meditation center, but I'm not Buddhist. You have my support anyway, though.

the international center is here where i am are there any other Shambhala people here?

i haven't meditated in any deep way for a long time... i found it can be like psychoanalytic free association, but without a T to help. Things from long past came up and it became more than i could bear..

i had been doing quite long meditation sessions... other than what i just said, it was so healing and good for me.. the rest of my world was so much more peaceful

have you read any of Pema Chodron's books? i am part way through "when things fall apart"

i could use a little companionship in this. i'd be very interested in hearing about your own path.

I read Pema Chodron's writings from time to time. I'm not a Buddhist but I enjoy her writing and her philosphy.

I began to practice meditation but didn't stay with it. I do some lighter stuff like short guided imageries and autogenics, usually before bed for relaxation.

I also have the Dalai Lama's "How to Practice" that I have read parts of and enjoy.

The current situation in Tibet is viscious and sad.

I read Chodron's The Places That Scare You a couple years ago and I just bought Comfortable With Uncertainty. Maybe we could start a little Pema Chodron reading group or something?

I just got Pema Chödrön's book, Comfortable with Uncertainty: 108 Teachings on Cultivating Fearlessness and Compassion and it looks really good. I'll probably be using quotes in my signature for a couple years (different one each week :-)
