Thanks...I wasn't sure what I was allowed to post anymore...I thought it was ok to talk about one's Christianity but not if you didn't believe in "God"...still a little confused...

Yes it seems as if what's not allowed is clear but what is allowed is not. So I hoped this might help some.

It's really difficult to discuss spirituality with out discussing religion, because they are different sides of the same coin. It's almost impossible to have one with out the other.

Even the article here says that Spirituality is the subjective part of religion.

Right now, my understand of the rules is that I can say that I'm Christian, but I can't use any Christian references or discuss my faith publicly at all. However, for many people, spirituality is experienced almost entirely through religion, and so to discuss it with out referencing religion can be crippling to the discussion.

The article posted lacks a clear answer to what spirituality is. All it can say is that some people define it one way, and others define it another way. That's not very helpful to those of us who can't seem to understand what is and isn't allowable here, but I do appreciate the thought. Thank you Echoes.

That is the question, though. What is Spirituality, anyways?

Personally, I think it is one's connection with God, and for me that comes directly through my faith. I can't imagine discussing one with out the other.

Is it really so hard for people to talk about religion? I mean, I may say in a post that I believe something, and I believe it because of these verses in Scripture. That doesn't mean that I expect other people to believe it- I'm just trying to provide some explanation.

EDIT: Just want to clarify- By "God" I mean the higher power(s) of your choice. Or whatever else you might want to substitute there.

I have a different take on spirituality.

While I believe in named gods & goddesses, I can speak of them in many ways without actually saying gods or goddesses. In naming the characteristics & qualities...I am being spiritual without speaking about any one god or goddess.

I guess my point is that I see spirituality as a completely different thing from religion and I know many people see it as one in the same.

We must discuss in generalities as TaintedGoth described. Which just reinforces to me that spirituality and religious belief is tied together, but one of the two isn't allowed. I don't see how you can believe there is a higher power/creator etc. and say you are of NO religious belief. That to me makes no sense. But then again, not much is making sense to me these days....... spirituality from Wikipedia And I sincerely do not intend to upset or offend ANYONE here. Just saying what I feel.

Blessings to all

((((TaintedGoth))))) sorry about that....After reading I see that how I see this in my mind isn't how it appears in typing. I wasn't attacking you or intending that towards you at all. So if that is how it was construed, I sincerely apologize.

All I am trying to say is I can't see spirituality without some sort of religious motivation. I can't see one without the other. If that how I said that makes any sense to you???
