There is nothing that two people can't accomplish, when one of them is God.

If you curse and then try to talk about God, who's going to listen?

None of us are Lenny.

You know what the beautiful thing is? That God loves us anyway! He FORGIVES us when we fail or come up short.

I agree God has a sense of humor. For one thing he put my husband and me together. We both love each other very much, but are also both very stubborn.

Then there is the fact that God put me in Kansas 10-1/2 years ago, after living on the East Coast for my whole life to that point. Especially since moving to rural Kansas 5-1/2 years ago, many mornings I wake wondering where I am, and how did I get here. Thought for today

Same here. The only real goal I had as a kid was to get away from home. I wake up most days and think "How did my path lead me back here - even more, back into the very same house?" Thought for today Is this God's version of "Ring Around the Rosie" for me? Thought for today

God doesn't play games with His creation. Thought for today You probably ended back up at home as a child because it was the only thing you really knew. Sounds like your childhood could have been better for you.

It wouldn't matter where we were in the world, God's purpose for our lives would be the same.

Hi Sky

The night before my father died, he told me he wanted me to have his house (buy my sister's half) and live here. He was disappointed when I told him we already had a home and couldn't possibly live here.

We put the house on the market, but I was sitting in the backyard with my sister one day looking at the lilac bushes. I remembered how much I loved the back yard and those lilac bushes. My back yard had always been a sanctuary for me as a kid. I couldn't imagine the new owners allowing me to hang around in their back yard.

When I mentioned the idea of buying the house to my sister, she was thrilled. She's lived in TX for many years, and this property is also her "sanctuary." She comes to visit me every year, and it makes her feel good to feel that connection to mom and dad again. She had a very good relationship with my mother.

My mother's final words to me were an angry "GO HOME!"

It would have been nice to tear down the house and rebuild, but I became sick and we've been struggling financially ever since. Thought for today

I'm not here because it's the only thing I know. I'm here because I am honoring my mother and father. Thought for today

My Ring Around the Rosie comment wasn't meant as an insult to God. It was just my way of saying that I am a child and he is in charge.

Let's not forget that our own FREE WILL comes into play quite a bit thoughout life. Thought for today

Speaking from personal experience, one of my biggest mistakes was in not hearing what God was saying to me. I'm still regretting it! : (

I hear that Tomi.
When I get to where I don't hear God, I express my desire to follow Him, and expect Him to direct my path, rather than me try to make decisions. I just allow what happens to "be" God's will for me. He can fix anything I mess up anyway. Thought for today

After 15 yrs, it's all beginning to work out for us, but there was a lot of hurt, a lot of facing the truth, a lot of regret to get through and there's still a lot of "patching up" to do.

If we could always listen and hear what God has to say, and follow Him, we would never make any mistakes at all. But it takes a lot of practice, and faith, and trust, and the ability to put aside what we think that we want in favor of what He wants to give us. What He wants to give us is always better, but us humans lack imagination and get our hearts set on something that seems good to us.

Speaking of practice, this is referring to music, but can be applied to anything, including listening, or practicing spirituality and religion.

Amateurs practice until they can play without making a mistake.

Professionals practice until they can't make a mistake.

Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge. If you had a perfect knowledge of any particular thing, you would have no need for faith on that matter.

Faith is things which are hoped for and not seen.
