there was a little boy once..
he couldnt wait til Christmas time in his dreams he imagined the great gifts he would receive he replayed in his mind the gifts he had given each one wrapped, its colors, its feel came back to him as he remembered now they all were beneath the tree in piles.. piles and piles of presents the night before Christmas he layed down in bed he imagined the morning to come, how there would be smiles and laughter... he pictured the torn wrappers littering the floor in his mind it was all ok, cause he would help clean it up afterwards... When morning came he went to the tree and joined the others.... there was talk and stories and happy smiling faces... as the gifts were passed around, one came to him, wrapped in plain brown wrapping he quickly added it to his pile and continued opening the one he held he had received an assortment of toys, clothes, books.. but when he came to the plain brown wrapper, he paused again.. it was tied with an ordinary piece of string and on the package were written the words 'from grampa' the boy tenderly opened the package, holding his breath and the tears inside his grampa had passed away this past summer and the boy was still very sensitive over it... when he got to the inside of the package, all he found was a note... with trembling child hands he read the words and a smile came to his face... i do not know what the note said... i never read it... but i felt the love that passed between two human souls when i saw the boy smile... the feeling of Christmas can happen any day, anyplace, anytime... may it happen today for you... |
