His teen son accidently ran over his daughter. Oh how tragic! One of my seminary professors had a similar tragedy... his young son went to lock a car door or something, the wife, who was driving grabbed at the child, and swerved the car in the process, and the child accidently opened the moving car...and the back wheel ran over him, killing him. The family was inconsolable nearly, even though strong Christian.

Many blessings to Mr. Chapman and his family.
Yes, this is just horrible! I do hope and pray that they can get through this period...I can only imagine how horrible this must be. |

They are, of course, still reeling from this. Maria was one of their adopted children, btw. Last year, Steven's best friend (and wife) lost a child due to a still birth. Steven wrote a song just for them and though recorded, it's not published on an album. Scott (his friend) said, who knew that in Steven's love of reaching out to them, that he would later minister to himself and his wife.
![]() One of Steven's favorite songs talked about not realizing how quickly children are "gone" and how appreciative he became of each day with them. He used to quickly give his 3 girls a bath, shampoo their hair etc and would hurry them along because he had other things to do. He noticed that as soon as the girls were dried, they ran to their room and put on their Cinderella dresses and would dance around, happy as larks. Thus the song about dancing with Cinderella.
