To grow into an intelligent, respectful, and environmentally concious and socially concious boy.

I hate to talk trash but i dont want him to turn out as his dad did. I want him to always respect women and I need prayers to find the right ways to relay that to him.

(((Rainbowzz)))) you've already shown in many ways how you are a caring and kind mom.. its great you have these concerns for your child... every child born is a precious gift to the world.. Jeremy has the best friend he can have in you.. i admire your consciousness in caring not only for J, but concern for us all by wanting your child to be conscious and aware of his Earth and his place in making it a better world.. may the angels always guide you...

There are no words louder than seen examples, imo.

Model the behavior that you want him to have, and he will see it and follow. Prayers for Jeremy

I also pray that he finds God in his life. Prayers for Jeremy

(((((((Rainbowzz)))))))) This is so sweet! And you are right, it is also very important. One thing I can say for sure is that children learn what they live. His relationship with you, his mother, will be the most important in teaching him what to hold value on.

Jeremy will be growing, watching, and learning from your example. Children learn very early to mirror their parents actions. Even when we think they aren't looking or paying any attention; those little eyes and ears are soaking it all in. Whatever he sees is important to you, will also become of importance with him.

My mom always told me that you can usually measure how a man will treat his wife by observing how he treats his mother. I have no doubt that Jeremy is in loving and capable hands. I am confident that you will raise a noble young man!

I can't say it any better than Recluse did... so ditto that! Prayers for Jeremy

You're a great mom, Rain. No need to doubt yourself on that score. Prayers for Jeremy

Rain, this poem came to mind when I read your post. The first time I read it was when I had just had my oldest son who is now 41. I gave to my husband when we got married and he brought his "little chap" with him... then we read it again when we had our son. Prayers for Jeremy

The Little Chap Who Follows Me

A careful man I ought to be,
A little fellow follows me,
I do not dare to go astray
For fear he'll go the selfsame way.

I cannot once escape his eyes,
Whate'er he sees me do, he tries;
Like me, he says, he's going to be,
The little chap who follows me.

He thinks that I am good and fine,
Believes in every word of mine
The base in me he must not see,
The little chap who follows me.

I must remember as I go,
Through summer's fun and winter's snow,
In building for the years to be
The little chap who follows me!

Thank you everyone.

As i get farther and farther away from his dad(relationship wise) I think about how I never want him to be like that, and how sad and awful it is that his dad doesn't have the ability to care like I do.

So i go forward thinking that he is like a shiny new chalkboard - anything can be put down on it that you want, which means he can be a kind, caring, loving individual if I only remember to be one myself.

Healing for him, and healing for me.
