Does this happen with this diagnosis? If not I kinda think it has to do with my boyfriend's marijuana use? Any thoughts or feedback?

Quote:
Yes. More specifically, working memory is a problem that hampers the executive functioning of people with psychotic disorders (and others like bipolar and ADHD). It makes it quite challenging to stay focused, think clearly, to plan effectively and "keep several balls in the air at the same time". The problem can vary from slight to profound, depending how sick the person is. When I was struggling with psychosis, I found it difficult to listen to people talking to me and comprehend what they were saying. I couldn't commit even simple tasks to memory, or make basic decisions. Reading was such a challenge because I couldn't recall what I had read at the beginning of a sentence. That totally killed my grasp of what I was reading. Concepts became meaningless. I could make no sense of it. Try reading legalese and filling out pages of hospital admission forms in that condition. Completely debilitating.

I have a lot of problems with my memory--especially if I'm in one of my sick modes. It causes great anxiety for me because I can't remember what people have already told me...that makes conversation difficult. I write a lot in my journal to help me with it. Writing it down helps it stick in my mind......D.
