I have schizoaffective disorder and at least once every two years, maybe more than that I find myself having to go into the hospital because my medications aren't working. So I go in stay there for 5 to 6 days and afterwards I get out and I'm depressed for a while. Anyways I sometimes feel like I'm a burden on everyone else because of my mental illness.

I've been successfully out of the hospital for 14 months and still at times I feel like a burden.

Try tout remember they would rather help take care of you than not have you there at all. I've been hospitalized a few times and my parents have had to fly out to help my husband with our son, so I definitely understand that feeling of being burdensome and causing stress for loved ones.
