I feel really scattered right now. I am having hallucinations all the time. My new medication has helped eliminate the dissociation but not the paranoia, mood swings and hallucinations. I am so exhausted. I quit school and I'm in the process of applying for disability cause idk what else to do with myself or how to obtain an income. I cry all the time and don't feel real.
I know this post is all over but how have others achieved recovery and stability? I have no one to talk to so I feel super alone with all this. |

Thank you for the response. I think part of my problem too is I really don't understand why and how all of this is happening. Specifically the hallucinations and paranoia/fear. I know its a chemical imbalance but I still don't know what that means. Its such a general statement ive been told over the years.

Over the years i would think medicine has evolved but I feel like there is still not a perfect solution to it. Medications either work somewhat or leave me with really bad side effects.

try medication until you find one that works
don't give up on them the problem could be the wrong combination prescribing medicine is an art not just science |

They normally turn down disability once or twice so dont give up on it if they do. At least thats what I heard and happen to me when I applied for disability..It may be different now ..hopefully. I had to quit school several times and just starting working been stabilized on meds for like 10yrs.. Unfornately, I stopped the meds recently and went down hill and back to square one trying new meds. Can your pdoc subscribe another med to possibly eliminate those symptoms or at least keep them at bay? Any time you want to chat Im open. Toss a message anytime. Hope things turn around for you for the better! |

meds have helped me a lot lately... but they didn't at first. It took a lot of trial and error at first to find nothing that worked and then I went med free. Med free didn't work either. After a lot of prodding from my therapist I tried meds again and this time I'm on a mix that works very well for me for a "dialing down" of my positive symptoms.
Like Lazlo said - try them until you find one that works. Best of luck. I'm in the middle of disability stuff too. |
