I was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic in 1962. I've had no hospitalisations since 1967, never taken medication - but I AM a schizophrenic inasmuch as I experience classic symptoms - I hear voices (clairaudience), have visual hallucinations (clairvoyance), experience telepathy on a daily basis, and so on. I believe that the origin of my "state of consciousness" was an extraordinary traumatic experience my great great great grandmother had in 1828 when she was 14.
