That entire section was me being facetious. It was a joke.

Thanks. What a relief! Mea culpa ... what I get for eavesdropping at someone's open window.

i told my extherapist i killed my dog..i lied. only thing i lied about.
that was to cover up the truth that i killed a slew of hamsters from 13 to 18 years of age
in a dramatic fashion
involving an overflowing bathtub and a paper boat.
i dont think she believed me.

What is it like to be an American citizen, which I am...

My facebook responses would give a good indicator. Some citizens will be your "friend" if you agree with them about political and/or social things. They will withdraw their friendship if you defy their political and/or social agenda. I can be friends with someone I disagree with, not everyone seems to have this ability.

It seems to me that the social climate in the usa is warming and becoming friendlier than it was in the 1980s. The 80s seemed like a time when it was acceptable to try to influence someone to commit suicide. Just another day... People would yell up at "jumpers" in cities, telling them to go on and "jump". Things are friendlier now, or civil, anyway. I don't have to feel afraid of being accused of being gay, even though I'm not that way. I used to have to deal with that, when gay bashing was the norm.

The usa is becoming a little more friendlier day by day, it seems to me.

"Where there is life, there is hope..." some smart greek thinker 3000 years ago, or so.

That's not a purely American trait, eh? I'm sure you'll find this in people of every nationality and persuasion. It's something I have to work on -- well, I can usually be friends with people I disagree with unless I find their opinions grossly distasteful. I have a very difficult time being friends with neo-Nazis, for example.

I draw the line when it needs to be drawn, when it is about political and social stuff. I had a job as a counter person at a sandwich and pizza plus booze and cig and snack store which my wife and son frequented, and they are both Jewish. My co worker began on an anti semetic rant and I asked her to stop, respectfully. She yelled and screamed and I felt physicly threatened, though I didn't bring formal charges against her or the business. I told the owner and manager about her hurtful words and racial slurs, and he agreed to not schedule me with her again. He followed through on that. She kept her job, though. I kept and keep my distance from her. She is dangerous, I believe. She claims to have many dangerous, like minded friends also. Very scary, the "enemy" lives comfortably in this area of the neast usa, it seems...
