thank you, i appreciate that so much.

weirdly im on an intellect streak right now. i havent been able to express myself as well as i have been the past two days...in a year. im also not on meds.

..but i know what comes after this.

my intellect and ideas are strong right now. but im extremely paranoid right now too and am back not leaving my house after i was leaving everyday for almost two weeks. (i havent done that in 2 almost 3 years). with it all mixed up like this. nothings bad or good. its the same. part of it may have been that i was on meds..reason why i was leaving my house. then i cold turkied them (stopped them abrubtly). i THINK. idk. the main thing is is that idc about the details because IM BACK.

That seems very similar to myself, when I hit an intellectual streak, that's about all I have, when I'm actually feeling like my old "normal" self, my intelligence level is average at best. But when my psychotic phase hits, so does my knowledge. Looks like you are of higher intelligence than myself even when I'm in a psychotic episode, and I rate my intelligence fairly high, so many on here are so smart. You're definately one of them!

lol You are very smart, there are a few people over time that I have noticed as being smarter than myself, you being one, there are a few on here, not many but some ;P

No ego boosting here, does no good for anyone

Nope, I understood all of that. I just know that for the most part, the labels are arbitrary and PFM's T sounds like he's causing PFM a lot of stress by freaking out about the labels and not.

Well, in the countries I've lived in, that's true of DID as well.

I don't think it will! I said PFM's T was acting like it would.

I have not, and will not, accept that the labels are anything other than a base, political exercise in classifying people based on certain arbitrary criteria. There's nothing "true" or "false" about them, and you can never get the "right" one because they're a load of fakery and guesswork.

The best you can hope for is a label that doesn't get you ****ed with too much by the psychiatrists. I can't count the number of times I've prayed for a "depression" label, because then the docs will let you off with some weak (probably useless and not dangerous) meds and won't really check on you.

Yes, but the exact same thing is perfectly true if they give you one of the drugs supposedly "approved" for psychosis. They could give it to you and you would get very sick and not feel any better. Also, you could be bipolar or whatever and lithium will still make you very sick -- in the UK you're only allowed to stay on it for five years because it's so toxic.

@fishandsandwich

you seem to get it.
thing is whatever you believe against psychiatry, with the labels and political exerciese you say, doesnt matter. because its how the world runs. and in order to run with it you have to play with it. NOT necessarily play by the rules BUT play and toy with it until you get what is right for yourself. because flat out - psychiatry is about money and power. when you bring it down to what it really is and what its about, what it stands for and WHAT ITS DONE; its a money and power trip.

see because i agree with you but you have to make it work for you because they dont work in your favor. so fighting for the right one is extremely important. thats how labels are important. dont let psychiatry tell you. you tell PSYCHIATRY.

you as a singular individual in small moments time will not change the history of psychiatry or current models so you need to hit the nail on the head with what YOU want and need.

I certainly agree with your last post, Newtus!

I have a schizophrenia diagnosis and my life isn't so bad. I mean, there are a lot of things about psychiatry and what they did to me that make me livid, but equally I have a decent job, good friends, my own place to live, etc. etc. . . . It's not like the label ended my life (just postponed it!), and I like to challenge that idea that once you get schizophrenia, your life as you know it is pretty much finished. That's why I filled out the MindFreedom survey You can't avoid what label the psychs put on you (to some extent), but you can give them the two-finger salute and go on with your life anyway.
