I'm guessing you're from the UK but yes you can if you are. I went to college while receiving disability for two years, Its only when you're doing something that you're otherwise apparently not able to do. I.e. claiming disability for not being able to be mobile then going to work for somewhere that requires a large amount of physical activity. As long as you're doing things that you're able to do within the disability specifics then you're fine.

Newtus, it depends on what state you're in, I think. Do you have a care co-ordinator or welfare officer you can speak to about it? Also, the college you're interested in going to should have information. Look to see if they have some kind of "disability office" -- they usually do -- and that place will be the best to go ask. If not, you should look for the student finance department.

i mean ive been doing college for 4 years now off and on and out of 50 credits i only was able to get 3 (so passed only one class in 4 years). maybe i shouldnt cause i cant focus and have a tough time thats why i failed and the stress from school is how i ended up hospitalized but i love learning...but i can never do it. i put on the questionaire that i cannot focus and get confused easily with instruction and i REALLY do but...i really want to function and...i want
to without meds...maybe nothig is as possible as im making it out to be...

I don't remember you talking about that, but I guess I popped out of nowhere with an answer to this one.

With online classes it really depends on the teacher and how much they are willing to work with you. I suggest e-mailing them 3-4x a week so they know you are there and trying. Getting double time on tests from the disability office, books on tape are life savors, take only two classes at a time. If you fail a class take it the next available semester so that your gpa doesn't suffer.

Yes, like Costello said you can tape the classes.
You can also ask for a lecture outline before you go from the prof, so you can follow along more easily and have a written summary of what's going on.

i SAID IM NOT GOING INTO A FREAKING CLASS WITH REAL PEOPLE. ive already been KICKED out of two community colleges. in all seriousness my GPA doesnt matter to me. i CANT worry about that right now. ive failed 50 credits of classes that i only care about if i can pass A CLASS. does anyone actually wanna know my GPA? hm? its 0.3. yea believe it. thats what happens when you take nearly 4 years of college and only pass one class. the pass 4 hears of my LIFE has been fragmented by these hospitalizations and episodes thats partly why too. i cant care about my gpa if i cant even pass another SECOND class. it will take me for than another 4 years to get i even to a 2.00 and im only planning on taking 1 class per semester. i cant handle more than that. i dont need lectures on what to just and answer to my question. thankfully costello gave me exactly what i needed. a one word answer.

I was at college on that - so it's fine, even more so for an online course.

I'm glad I'm on it actually or I've have no money if I ever get to uni £8500 is way expensive that's $13,248.53 according to xe.com.

I'm taking an online class this summer. My first. I'm a bit nervous about it. I do fine in classrooms, but I'm really bad about managing my time. I hope there will be deadlines and so on along the way. I can see myself waiting until the last day and trying to do everything.

Have you taken an online class, newtus? Are there lectures? If not, then the attention thing might not be as important.

yea i have. i pass them for some reason over nononline classes. no lectures on them. just like a list of things to get done and upload online or type out online and send. online is a good way to bypass lectures anyway at least at community colleges.
