Hi everyone. I believe I've developed a mild form of psychosis over this year, due to enormous stress and isolation. It comes through in what I say and how I say it, sometimes. It has affected my work environment. People at work are wary of me. Once in a while, during moments of great stress, I say something really quick, not realizing what it is that I'm saying, until later. It is as if though I have a mini mental breakdown. People get dumbfounded and it causes me great pain and embarrassment. Any feedback or advice is appreciated....

I don't know if you're describing psychosis. But more information would be good. When you say "you say something really quick" do you mean you just blurt out random things? Or you start talking really fast?
Like Williow said, we can't diagnose. We're not doctors and it's just the internet, but we might be able to help you sort out questions to ask your own doctor.

My Mom has had this very same thing happen as well. She has never been diagnosed with a mental illness, I believe in part because she works for a living and does not believe in diseases at all unless they happen to people she knows personally. This I believe, has held her back from getting the treatment that could have ultimately helped her to cope with her symptoms.
It would be best to get a small mental health check-up in my opinion and experience. It could either confirm your suspicions, or deny them, either way; a professional is the best one to consult. Don't hide anything either. There is no point in going if we are going to fear the result and end up being dishonest to "escape" the situation. This only compounds problematic situations. I wish you the best. Keep us updated as to what you decide to do about this. |

You need to give more information and no one can diagnosis you on here. You should talk to a progressional. Some professionals may go by the book, others don't. ^^ In 2011 I started noticing I had psychosis, I still do. When I was in the hospital they believed I was making it up. But when I started therapy they believed me, and I was diagnosed with Psychotic Depression.
