I think I know what you mean, and yes I've had some "confusion" like you've described before. It's gotten better for me over the years, but it still happens sometimes especially when things are really bad for me.

the lesser version of confusion you described, like with every day things and things people say, yes this happens to me quite often. i wish i knew how to fix it. it's very frustrating.

I get a lot of confusion. I can get dressed and stuff okay. But, picking out my clothes can be a real problem. I get confused on things like folding clothes. It frustrates me. Putting things away. I don't know why it confuses me.

but, I think I've been like that along time. I always kept my clothes in a bucket, for example. I had a big purple bucket. I put all my clothes in it. But I don't have my bucket any more.

I get really confused like let's say my husband sends me to the store to get something. Let's say bread. Well, that should be easy, right? But let's say they are sold out of the brand he likes. Then I have to pick a different one. And my head starts spinning, I get confused about what to do. Sometimes I will call him 5-6 times when I'm at the store to clarify things. Otherwise I just stand there in the isle staring and pacing. I remember one time in particular it took me 10 minutes to pick out a pie, because the one I wanted wasn't there.

oh my god, yes! this happens to me every time i'm sent to the store. my wife gives me a list and god forbid if something is not on the shelf but on the list. i get so wrapped up in trying to find it, 30 minutes goes by sometimes. i come home empty-handed and my wife gives me crap. if only she understood how hard that is to deal with.

I have rules that I follow but they don't always work. Like, if it's not there, don't get anything. But then I see similar things and think, "Maybe this will work." It's sad.

Newtus, you will see me sometimes admit if I am not understanding what people say. I think, it's okay to do that here. It's hard to do in the world, though, where everyone multi-tasks and acts like perfection is the only way.
