It's not impossible but it's way harder than usual right now. I'm not doing so well.
Does anyone else here have times when they have a harder time talking than usual? |

Ad: Sorry you are having a hard time. I get my words scrambled and I freeze up. It's really frustrating when that happens.

Sometimes I can't figure out what to say and it takes too long and I reaalize I'm just being silent. Then sometimes I stay non-verbal like that for awhile.

I know exactly what your talking about. Some days I just freeze, I go without talking to anyone or saying a single word. And if anyone tries to speak to me, I just shrug.
I find that reading helps. I know this sounds weird, but when I read stories with dialects and people communicating it puts me at ease. And I slowly try to communicate with the outside world again. Don't worry, it's a phase and it will pass

Yes. Even thought I have pretty sever pressured speech issues I have 2 problems with talking. 1) is that I can't get accross what I'm trying to say. I am talking but the person listening gets losts. 2) Is that I just feel like my talking is blocked. Also I have a lot of times when talking that I forget what I'm saying and have to pause an think a while and sometimes I can't remember.
I don't know if either of those are what you're going through.

I get times when I just don't see the point of talking cos I have nothing to say, so I just stay silent. Is that what you mean Atypical? I'm sorry that you're having trouble talking AD

Me too. I've turned off my phone for days at a time because I just couldn't handle it.

Sometimes I cannot talk, when I am feeling overwhelmed. Whenever I feel like this I have to go off on my own and let the paralyzing feelings lessen. This also happens when I am anxious but it is not as bad. My nerves make it hard to coordinate my mind with my mouth so I stammer and talk slow. I also get like this when I don't want to be around people.
This is very frustrating.

If you have loved ones or people close to you that you feel comfortable with. Just ask them questions. How was your day? , etc. And if there is a wealth of information coming at you , let it go over your head. Probably whats more pertinent is how are you feeling , etc , try to tell someone how your feeling , if your delusional , you dont have to go into a frame by frame account. Don't over do it either , and try to relax. At some stage you'll have to articulate how your feeling? Keep in touch with basic emotions and try no to think too much.
