i heard it makes them terribly sick.
then again a lot of people with psychosis or dopamine problems it makes them sick. with side effects.

ive also had a lot of serious side effects on meds and most people cant handle haldol (what im on now) but i handle it better than the other ones. i little to no weight gain on it. only had the dystonia on it maybe twice or three times. but never again on it. (but still watching that closely). the only the thing is the sedation which i hope gets better. some things i didnt have the sedation on but they didnt help either. or they made me gain lots of weight. seroquel was the worst. i gained 80 pounds but i was also on 500 or so Mg of it.

anyway i heard it makes them sick beceause they have no dopamine to inhibit. to stop an overflow of. you know. i obviously dont think itd good for anyone not needing it to try it. i read somewhere it makes you too tired and all this. but same happens for someone with sz. people have varying degrees of sz though too. so im guessing if someone has it more severe thats why it make not affect another the same way.

"normal"?

I've been on geodon, for bipolar depression and it stopped my suicidal thoughts.

I'm currently on seroquel which does nothing, and I'm on zyprexa which again is doing nothing.

Of the 3 antipsychotics I've been on geodon worked for suicidal ideation, but made me extremely tired(like I couldn't drive tired).

I'm possibly bipolar, but really just depressed.

yea i contemplated putting brackets around normal but i didnt.

it is very true theres also diff types of antipsychotics. theres some that work differently than others. zyprexa is different from geodon i think. i know its different from many others. geodon did nothing for me. it was like taking a placebo. it didnt work. my major problems are with psychosis related things.

they will feel the side effects including a little dizzy or drowsy, perhaps even very ill. Not a good experience I've heard

The last two they tried me on where abilify and Geodon, both of which gave me excruciating muscle pain (like writhing in pain ended up in ER), it feels like it is taking me forever to regain my muscle use. And I don't know if Effexor is an antipsychotic or not, it made me shake really bad. So did Zoloft in the past. It seems like usually if I don't do good on a drug, it either makes me throw up or it makes my muscles spasm. And professionals seem to be amazed that we would rather suffer with our depression and psychosis vs. try meds... hmmm, I wonder... NOT!

I asked this question at the psych ward before and they told me it depends on the drug and dosage. A small dosage would most likely give them unpleasant side affects like nausea. A large dose could make a "normal" person psychotic and they could hallucinate along with becoming paranoid. I don't know what the long term affects of it are though, I assume if a person was facing such bad side affects they would discontinue it.

The effects will depend on the antipsychotic. I'd never suggest anyone to take a one off dose of Geodon/Zeldox, cos that made me crook at first even though I did have mood disruptions. Seroquel on the other hand (at a low dose) is likely just to put the person to sleep. I remember reading about parents who have accidently taken their mentally ill childrens meds and just being knocked out for hours.

Lol, I couldn't imagine taking someone else's meds. I heard seroquel is quite the drug and in large doses it side affects are terrible. I couldn't see someone taking my risperidone. I'd figured they would be out for pretty much the whole day if they took them.
