Schizophrenia has evolved into so much more. Schizophrenia has become a complex, chaotic, and beautiful anomaly of something more than it ever has been before. It's a hidden force of mystery within the oppressive society, and should be used as a standard that proves where freedom remains, and where it is being shuttered away.
Who here has control over themselves? Who here is strong enough to stand up and take back control and stop believing in the delusion that we are safe, protected, or even cared for? Nobody loves us. We aren't unique, gifted, or powerful. We're just the illusive dreams, once imagined by a creator in a could-be free world. |

Control and feeling in control is a problem in schizophrenia. I do disagree with you about the allusiveness and beauty and mystery of the disease. Many people here have had their experiences with the condition , my experience without a doubt is one of a malfunctioning mind kind. And my psychotic states make sense to me they are very logical , and are devoid of mystery. That is after the fact of course. So the presentation of the illness is like a radio where the tuner dial is hovering in and out of a radio station. Conversation is low then high , intelligible then unintelligible , so my illness feels like interference just like the tuning of a radio , and does not feel mysterious. But other people experience there illness differently. I accept that.

Quote:
The one thing I've learned is that you have to be your own advocate and take care of yourself, because it's true that no everyone is going to have a support system. Power comes from knowledge and experience. Being told you're not powerful is exactly what causes opression. Stand up and say "I'm a viable human being even if I function differently." Our society is set up so only certain types of people can succeed. That's the disconnect and that's what needs to change. Also, everyone has their own gifts to bring. Some are artists, some are mathematical, some are scientists, some are spiritual leaders. It doesn't matter the gift, but everyone has something they should be proud of. Even if it isn't a gift that produces monetary gain. Those gifts are valuable to our lives and should be cherished.
