2 hours is nothing. I used to live in Ireland and thought 4 hours was hell but since I live in canada now, I can drive 6-10 hours in day and it would be nothing really. Before my parents would drive for days. My pdoc appointment is an hour drive and if I were to go to the city in Edmonton it would be 2 hours.

Btw clozaril will kill. I have seen a documentary on schizophrenia and I think that's the last med that you should use if all else fails.

Yeah those face spasms are probably TD it often starts with the mouth for some reason albeit there are other manifestations..pdoc was always making me stick out my tongue to check it was kind of horrifying. Risperidone is pretty cheap strangely I got it through an employee discount plan cheaper than through my insurance....only cost me $5 a bottle don't know if you've tried that one it does have weight gain but not like zyprexa and is the worst for lactation and stopping your period also has high tremor and other Parkinson's side effects.

I've tried Risperidone before. Thanks for the info. For now I think I'll stick with the Zyprexa. I've manage to lose weight on it. Plus my diet and exercise (which I don't do at all) isn't the healthiest either so cutting back on certain foods should help in weight loss. I mean I'm down almost 20 pounds which is a good thing. Other than weight gain... I have pretty much no side effects.
Thanks for this!

The problem is money for gas and her missing so much school. She misses a lot now as it is. Everything around here is an hour or more away too. But financially, we just cant afford to do it. And it was only a suggestion. Her pdoc is not quite sure just what kind of services are there.

Right now the APs are in a protected class but there is legislation looking to overturn it...

I'm relatively new to Medicaid. I think I've been on it for about a year. However been on the Zyprexa and Paxil for like two years thanks to the free samples at the clinic I go to. As for the medication I'm taking... Zyprexa, Paxil, Metformin, Pravastatin, and birth control... I only have to pay 3 dollars for them at the pharmacy.

Medicaid is a blessing. I dont know how people can pay to get help without insurance.
But it can be a pain in the neck. That may be because of the meds and Beans age though.
Eother way, I am grateful.

Ok but if you ever forget entirely you can probably take a 2nd pill with your night dose because you can take as much as 5mg at once. This should keep your blood levels up and help keep you stable.

I checked on Google and it says 1-2mg risperidone = 2mg haldol

So when I take 1mg (not like 4 million mg) but when I wake up it feels a lot worse than if you keep taking it continuously at the same time every day.

1mg is an incredibly low dose of risperidone, I was on two mg but my pdoc was aiming for 4 mg but side effects kicked in. The max dose of haldol per day is 30mg so she is no where near the top but the problem is she is consistently forgetting her morning pill and I'm concerned because she just quit an injection worth 6.7-10mg per day so while she might be able to tolerate lower doses after more tapering right now it's really dangerous to cut from 2/3 to 4/5 the dose down to 2mg. Spreading it out would be best but what I'm suggesting is an alternative for when she does forget. If you have suggestions for remembering to take a pill in the morning other than some sort of alarm which she just turns off that would be super helpful.

Okok.. @ newtus. Since low dopamine is the same as high dopamine (which I have use my professional skills in scientific mental health and neurological research over the past couple hundred years (no thy one shall argue)), thus, I will use ADHD coping skills.

- when you get on the internet, make bold letters saying to take it.
- get mom, dad to tell remind you in the morning or feed to you manually (cuz I know it's impossible to get out of bed on many risperidones/haldols)
- take pills with every meal
- make booklet to write down every time you took it even if it makes no sense it builds habit
- organize pills in a weird order that you like, line them up (omg no one does that..) ok so.. Count all the pills in the bottle give dates etc..
- do not procrastinate. No saying "ill do it in 5 minutes" because it never works.

Gtg
