my voices come with a face and body that overlap my own sometimes. sometimes when i do things like brush my hair or wash myself its like they are doing it instead. i am unable to control this and they seem to take over things that i do as if they were doing it, though i am the one moving. one of the voices i am not comfortable with tries to wash me and it feels like i am getting molested so i have to ask for another voice to wash me instead. just wondering if this happens to anyone else. also i am able to allow them to move my body or speak for me however they want to, but they cant move me without me allowing it. has anyone heard or this happening or have had this happen to them

Do you ever lose chunks of time where you don't know what happened? I ask because I'm not sure if you're referring to voices as in auditory hallucinations, or personalities as in Dissociative Identity Disorder. Do you have a therapist or a psychiatrist you can ask to try and figure this out?

Thanks for this!

I agree with Willow, that sounds more like DID than psychosis.

Although I have heard of people who believe that the origin of their voices is in their own vocal chords and of feeling that one's actions are being manipulated. But full on loss of control to another personality sounds more like DID.

yes, I agree, too. Sounds like DID to me.

I have Other Me, who I don't know if she's a voice or not. But she's part of me but also not. But she doesn't take over my body. She just kind of gives me advice or sometimes helps me know what to say, or she talks to me and spends time with me. But, not to ever take over and control me.

I'm talking about an auditory hallucination not a personality. I dont think its DID because im still the one in control of everything, its just i see my voice's face and body overlapping my own body as i am doing things.

Thanks for clarifying So you are having visual hallucinations at the same time as the voices? I've never had visuals or felt my body being controlled by others, but it has been mentioned here before. Maybe you could search the forum for more experiences or others will chime in with their experiences?

bronnie I have the same EXACT thing. I thought for sure I was a one of a kind lol. and as to the willingness......not always. if I understand correctly , it isn't that you actually see someone else brush your teeth but feel like another entity has stepped inside you and is moving you about and talking to you simultaneously. when I slit my wrists I was taken over by one of these. I was present watching it unfold but "seemed" to be at the mercy of the "handler". as if what I was doing was ok....normally watching yourself take a knife to the bathroom and having "that" conversation might be startling.....not at all. so please be careful about agreeing to let them take over movements. there are certainly times I have allowed it to happen that such a release of control felt beautiful and alleviated me. not sure why. it is the most astonishing feeling to have your body move as if you were just an observer.

yeah that sounds what i have been going through. I will be careful with letting them take over movements. I dont usually let them do it, just when one of them that i like wants to play video games. he is a nerdy voice haha.
