Laughter, the best meditative medicine - Los Angeles Times
So mindfulness mediation has been promoted as beneficial for sz....this article talks about how laughter activates the same gamma state in the brain and actually induces dopamine release which is interesting to me because dopamine is generally considered to be an issue in sz based on the effective meds etc. but what this suggests is that some of the more positive aspects of dopamine are in fact beneficial and I'm wondering if there is perhaps region selectivity in this process and if this might help with negative symptoms....

I certainly think laughter is good for folks and could be helpful for people with schizophrenia.

Ever since I started the Abilify, I get huge chills everywhere when I listen to good music like to the point where I feel almost numb. It says that it releases dopamine and I couldn't stop smiling it's great I suppose.
