Well I was getting like 2-3 hrs here and there. I was just taking so many meds to get there. Thanks though, I would love to have them if I could. Seriously, sleep has been so hard for me since I had my first psychotic break after having my son. The pdocs think the birth of my son triggered the bp. I guess any major stressor can. But yeah going without adequate sleep is so difficult for me. I need about 7 hrs to feel rested.

I can't imagine having a kid. That's stressful enough. But it's interesting how birth of a child can trigger mental health such as postpartum depression and psychosis. Makes me think of the story called the yellow wallpaper. The lady suffered some depression after giving birth and they made her stay in a room with yellow wall paper and she began seeing stuff in the wallpaper.

Yeah I've rad that. See if I had been diagnosed properly my bp might not be so severe. But I was in that organization and they told me God would heal me. I wish God would heal mental illness....

Was at the dentist today, second time I've been there and the local anesthetic wouldn't work. Inflamed abscess won't let the local work. Have to pay a fortune to get knocked out to get the tooth pulled. #badtimes

I tend to stay away from things that puts religion in them. I've never been a fan of 12 step program where you have to accept god as your savior and what not and it bothers me that some mental health groups advocate for them.

dr phil was just like telling the guy "i dont think your as sick as you think you are. you hear voices and you talk to yourself so you got labeled as schizophrenic." the guy has delusions and said hears lots of voices.

He probably said that because the guy didn't have severe thought disorder/disorganization symptoms. What a load of ********. You can be schizophrenic without talking in word salad all the time sheesh.

Sounds like Dr. Phil is minimizing his experience.

What I don't understand is why they slap on labels like BP so easily and then just about never want to say, "oh he/she has sz/sza".

Like seriously if you're a bit too happy you're instantly hypo/manic according to some pdocs but if you're actively hallucinating and having delusions it's like, "well we just don't know"...
Thanks for this!

yea paranoid schizophrenia in the dsm only lists delusions and hallucinations i believe if im correct as criteria for diagnosis. BUT this guy clearly had some thought disorder going on.

Yeah exactly. And most people with sz/sza that I've met have at least SOME thought disorder going on, it can be mild or more severe but still. Like I've noticed you for instance can get a bit nonsensical when you're really unwell... and we all know I talk in word salad when I'm acutely psychotic... Sigh...

I don't get it either. BP is over diagnosed. I often wonder if it is actually due to prescription induced BP symptoms, PTSD or a PD.

omg i wish you guys couldve seen it. when dr phil said "i dont think youre as sick as you think you are" to the guy. i thought the guy was gonna like snap out of it like if he was just like faking and gonna stop but he didnt. and then he paused and he was like "dr phil...am i schizophrenia? do you think...do you...do you think that...am i schizophrenic?" and dr phil said flat out "no. you may be bipolar"

lol they keep wanting to diagnose me with BPD and I don't think I have BPD. Just because I cut and have a history of sexual abuse. Hell I've notice how one of the hospitals I went to kept asking me questions about bipolar disorder. I know for sure I'm not bipolar. Depression yes... bipolar no.
Thanks for this!
