I called the fellow with the $40 kitten. I'll go see it this evening after work.

if it's any consolation my stepdad's cat went missing and we were able to find him. Maybe yours will show up. I also had a cat that went missing and shown up like 6 months later pregnant.
Thanks for this!

Sounds fun. I love stuff like that. We have a really scary haunted house here oh and a spooky corn maze. It takes a lot to scare me but the haunted house does.

guys idont know how much worse it can get.

my last customer before i went on break was this old lady. i saw she had coupons and i asked her for them before i started ringing up her stuff. id ont know why but she got really flustered and angry. she said "i wont be coming back thru this line anymore". i pretended like i didnt hear that. i rang up her stuff. i asked her if she wanted to donate to this charity. we have to ask everyone that. she said "no, i just want to get away from you". i didnt react to her at all and gave her her change and she left. she stared at me the whole way out. i went on break and just cried in my car. i was so close to leaving an dnever going back. i texted T. he was really supportive. we texted for a few min.

i decided to go back in there. when i got back in i just straight up told the manager what happened and i told her that that lady will prob call in to complain. then i just went back to my register and started doing my job again. i had 2.5 hours left.

i dont even know how i managed to go back in there and continue working. everything inside of me wanted to quit. i realyl felt like i couldnt do it anymore. i felt so upset.

but i went back in and i survived.

i texted T when i clocked out and told him that i went back in after break and that i talked to the manager. he wrote me back and in all caps said good for you!!! im so proud!!!! that felt really good. at least i have T on my side.

anyway im pretty sure im gonna start looking for a different job. something low key. where i dont have to interact with the public so much.

im just not cut out for it

Maybe you can talk to the store director/your manager about finding another position in the store that doesn't deal with the public a lot? Maybe explain your situation and maybe they'll understand?
Thanks for this!

How did your manager react...usually when I was working like that the manager would tell me what she would do in the same situation to avoid trouble.

I really do think you should look for something else though....grocery has more flow through than just about anything retail....also it's nice to work some place your knowledge is appreciated. My sister works at a record store and she can just talk to people about music until someone needs to be rung up.

thanks guys. the store director was working tonight. i told the manager what happened. she seemed ok. im fairly certain she talked to the store director about it. i saw them in the office together after i told her. iwas scared that he was going to come talk to me. but he didnt. the store director knows my situation and that i have mental health issues. also it was prob obvious that i had been crying before i talked to the manager. neither of them seemed like they thought i did something wrong or that i was in trouble.

i thought about transferring to the other store in a neighboring town. i went in there today and it seemed so much more chill. i talked a little to the cashier about it.

honestly i think i just need to get out of retail. i am way too sensitive to work with teh public. they have no mercy. they take their sh tty lives out on cashiers. i can have 100 really nice poeple but hten one rude b tch comes through and i feel shattered.

I've gotta figure something out about my sleep. The sleep study plc can't get me in til the 19th of November. Then they said it was about 2 wks later for the sleep study. I'm just so exhausted. I can't live this way, it's becoming painful. I can try sleeping on my couch sitting up I guess. Every time I lay down its hard to breathe and I'm laying on my side. There has to be some kind of solution...

I need more pillows, maybe if I prop my head up it will help I just don't know..

Have you ever tried the breath right strips...I don't think it will help apnea per se but it makes it easier to breath, it's like pinching the bridge of your nose. Might work somewhat I don't know. Just a thought....

Sounds like she has issues that have nothing to do with you. I feel sorry for her.

Don't let her get you down.

How is everyone this morning? (most probably fast asleep right now!)

I enjoyed my meal out last night but I think drinking a bottle of beer disturbed my sleep a bit. I was half-awake from about 2-5 but I did mange to get some brief bits of proper sleep & got up an hour later than normal.

I was going to suggest that too. I've never used one but I've heard they work for some people.

I got the kitten last night. In fact they had two, so I took both thinking they could be friends. (They were from two different litters, two weeks apart.)

When they handed me the first cat, I asked what kind of personality it had. They said "shy." From my point of view that's the perfect cat. My cats are indoor-outdoor cats, and I've learned that bold or friendly cats don't last long. They disappear - probably to coyotes. So I was really happy to have a timid cat.

Then they said they had the second cat, and I took them both. I had some doubts, because they said the other cat was a lover. Before going home I swung by my son's house to show him the kittens. As soon as I opened the carrier on his living room floor, the second cat leapt out and started exploring, heading in the direction of my son's cat immediately. My heart sunk, because a cat that bold will be a short-timer here.

The other kitten hunkered down and hid in the carrier until we'd all followed the one who'd jumped out first. Then he slunk out and started exploring by moving away from us and toward a wall and corner, keeping his belly low to the floor. Perfect.

In the end I left the second cat with my son who's been wanting a friend for his cat for a year now. He keeps his cat indoors all the time, so it should be fine.

That's good news Costello. Very nice of you to give the second kitten your son.

My parents have had over a dozen cats over the years that were indoor/outdoor but when we got "our" first kittens when I was 5 or so, we switched to just keeping them indoors.

Yes. I could tell my son really liked the kitten. It's the perfect solution for everyone. Except mine will be lonely during the day. :

I'm going to try to keep this one indoors, but I always say that, and it never works. They get out somehow, and then I give up.
