That's good you're starting to think more positively about it. Now that you mention it I did have to do things like 'communications' when I was in college so maybe it's similar. Though I doubt they would have gotten away with phys ed in a Computing course, too many lazy nerds

Also, there's no reason to believe you won't get your degree. You're clearly bright and if you do it at your own pace you'll be more than capable of getting it.

I never had to take phys ed in college all our criteria were based more closely on a good curriculum for pre-meds....

im assuming you did core credits? right?

i dont know about other states...and it could even be different with other colleges in texas...but at least most texas colleges especially community colleges require 1 credit hour of phys ed. which is just one class. so i decided to take it during this time (wintermester) which is 4 weeks long. i only actually have to exercise for 3 weeks really. im so glad i didnt take it for spring because i wouldve had to exercise for 16 weeks!!!

They didn't call it core but yes we had groups of classes that everyone had to take 3 of like I took art history, poly sci and cultural anthro, english etc but in some cases you could take a class in dinosaurs or whatever----but none of it was mandated by the state, they are different depending on the university.

I didn't have to take PE in college, thank God! I didn't have to take it my senior year of high school either.

Although I'd much rather lose weight by exercising rather than restricting my diet...half an hour of cycling 3 times a week, vs. giving up cookies for the next several months...yeah, I'll take the exercise!

I just read this really touching story. There was a woman who was stealing eggs from a grocery store, because she was so poor and could not afford food. Her family hadn't eaten in 2 days. A cop saw her, and rather than arresting her, he bought her the eggs. Two days later, he showed up at her house with two trucks full of food.

It made me cry. It was so beautiful. I want to be like that cop to somebody someday.

If you first enrolled at a Texas public university or college in Fall 1999 or more recently, your degree requirements include a General Education Core Curriculum. Every public institution in Texas has a Core
i didnt have to take PE in high school either. i was actually in a class called PE Partners in high school (which counted as PE credits). i would help students with disablities participate in PE. all i had to do though was watch them and make sure they didnt hurt themselves. so i had an hour class every other day where i would just sit and talk.

I started in 1993 so I don't think this kind of thing even existed back then...

I hate all spiders, but especially ones that could potentially kill me.

Spiders don't scare me much. I like to catch them and take them outside. I like to think that they're good luck.

LOL i ranted on the college class forum about how i hate exercising and how i lost weight with diet alone and i got 100 on it. LOL awesome. thumbs up for speaking my mind. mind you i DID do the assignment - which was called "what is your favorite exercise?" - so i answered the question but half of the answer was about how i lost weight through diet and how i hate exercise.

omg me too.
i like to watch them make their webs and i play with them.

but i still kill them because ive been bitten so many times. like a couple actually crawled under my covers a year ago and bit me on my ankle and another bit me on my elbow. i think they were wolf spiders.

Well I got my final grades. No As. Not even any B+s. All Bs. I feel so incompetent.

I hate myself so much.

I used to be a smart go-getter. I know that I shouldn't base my self-worth on grades, but I am the kind of person who needs external validation to know that I have value.

All Bs doesn't sound so bad, but there have only been 3 people since the beginning of the program who have gotten under a 3.5 GPA. So I'm going to be like the 4th worst student to ever go through the program.

God, I feel so worthless. I hate ADD and whatever else is going on with me. I want my brain back! I'm going to get it back. Take it back. Rebuild myself into what I once was. Even if I die trying.
