i went to my therapist this morning.

i talked to her about the voices and stuff. at the end she was like "one more thing i wanted to ask you...have you been taking your meds?". i was just straight up like "not really".

she said after a month she will reevaluate my needing my dad in the waiting room and see about having longer sessions.

ugh idk

I'm going today to talk to my friend at church about the meeting I went to. She said she wants to hear more about it and possibly come up with a plan to partner together. I hope I don't get all dumb and forget how to speak. As happens sometimes.

i forreal like got beef with her about having that picture up with winnie the pooh and all the different disorders on her bulleting board. i was like "ima tell you straight. i dont like that". in the end she was like "maybe if your view wasnt so pessimistic you wouldnt see the picture as stigmatizing". i said "no. thats not how it is."

Roll Call 48

she had this on her board.
and i said i didnt like it because i found it stigmatizing.
she said maybe if my general view of everything wasnt so pessimistic than i wouldnt find it stigmatizing. but what i dont think she understands is that people on social networking sites use this image to make fun of people with these disorders and then use these pictures to label themselves and say "im so ADHD like tigger". this is why i dont like it.
but also i feel like its stigmatizing too by putting some cartoon characters in place of real life clinical disorders when its a childs cartoon/movie not meant to convey these disorders. i mean in MY understanding i dont think this movie was meant to.

I think Winnie the Pooh was just a child's movie and wasn't meant to convey anything serious such as mental illnesses.

I'm failing one of my classes because I can't grasp abstract thought and I'm really mad about it. I have no idea what to do. I never failed so hard in a class before and it's really getting on my nerves.

I've always found it amusing just like the concept that the characters of gilligans island are meant to portray the 7 deadly sins with gilligan representing sloth---------however I don't think a therapists office is an appropriate place to hang it because it minimizes the experience to some extent....

like i could see it being used on like a mental health website maybe. like a blog cuz ive seen this image many many many times on tumblr and instgram. but not in a professional setting. like definitely not.

and she says to me: "Out of all the time ive had this here youre the only person that doesnt like this".

on another note i always somehow seem to the "first" or "only" person to do something or say something with almost every person i meet.

honestly that portrayal of christopher robin curled up with his knees to his chest. like how the hell does that portray schizophrenia?! it doesnt. most of the picture protrayals dont even make sense. if i have never seen that movie i wouldnt know what these pictures were trying to tell me. they arent informing me of anything. none of them are. and i saw that movie when i was kid.

Well the whole world of winnie the pooh is in christopher robins imagination hes daydreaming in the picture---there are no talking bears etc irl thus the joke that someones childhood fantasies are being portrayed as an illness. I don't think it's meant for people who haven't seen the shows.

I think you should it will just be harder to go next time if you skip this one and you already met that guy so he'll be expecting you. I think it will be good to figure out whether this is something that works for you or not.

well i get that. and i have seen the movie at least. im not fully aware of the shows. but for 1 - its a cartoon. and christopher robin is also a cartoon. anything can happen in a cartoon. but another thing - the picture doesnt inform me. if someone hasnt seen the shows/movie then its sort of like an "inside" joke then - if its like what you a said - a joke. because the picture by itself doesnt even remotely inform me or relate to anything. then your right its not made for a professional setting.

im prob taking this too seriously. but im taking is seriously becuase i saw it in a therapists office. ive seen this already dozens of times online.

Junk, I'm sorry about your neighbors. It would be good for you though to let someone you trust know about it, like your T.

So far as I can tell its a joke which is why I think it's inappropriate for a professionals office it does minimize things.....I still think it's funny but I would question a T that had it up because I don't think that they should see humor in it. It kind of suggests that they might see humor in what their patients are doing as well which I think is wrong. It's OK for the patients to see humor because they are laughing at themselves but for an outsider I think its deleterious.

i dont have a problem with the image in itself but i also think its inappropriate to have in a therapy office. it just doesnt seem right to have it there.
