I am wondering if anyone else experiences critical auditory hallucinations ONLY when they are around other people?
Whenever I am in public I hear people berating me and all of the people are addressing the issues I am feeling self conscious about, but I don't have berating auditory hallucinations if I am by myself. I will have intrusive thoughts that do not feel like they are mine and they do not feel like they came from me, but never multiple voices and never a constant narration like it is when I am in public. |

yes i have this is exact same thing. i hate it. i don't want to go anywhere because of it. i don't want to work because of this. i have two kids and a bf and family and i think they think i'm lazy and that is why i don't work but the reason is when i am around people i constantly hear people putting me down. it seems so real. i have had this for quite a while and when i was working it got me so down. every day going to work all day long hearing people make fun of me and put me down. that is why i haven't worked in over a year and am afraid to because there is no escape. i can't just leave. but i don't want to hear put downs all day long every day. it saps my energy. i wish i could figure out why this is happening to me. i do know things that used to happen to me don't anymore. several years ago i would hear my sons dad talking all the time and putting me down and i actually heard voices that weren't there. i don't anymore and didn't take meds and still don't. the only problem i have now is hearing things about me all the time when i am in public. it is very distressing. it hinders me from a normal life but it is better than what i was going through a few years ago so i hope somehow it will be resolved as well and i will be able to live a normal life. i hope you find the answers you are looking for and i want to tell you what i am finding more and more is perception is everything. the way you perceive the world around you is reality. it is all in the brain. try to perceive things as good instead of negative. that's what i'm trying to do anyway
