So here I go again... I recently just turned 15 years old and got my dream crushed. I found out I can't join the military because of ****ing schizophrenia even though my symptoms aren't bad. People were saying I could just hide it from the military, but if I do that I get caught when I have to get a clearance check to be a MP.So that dream dead also can't be freaking FBI or Cop because of schizophrenia also when that does clearance check again so I don't know what to do with my life.Any suggestion with thing i can do with my life?

Do you know specifically what it was about the idea of serving in the military that attracted you to it?
Possible examples: - Helping or protecting people - Feeling powerful - Making a difference - Having and working with comrades - Heavy structure - Feeling respected There are many more possibilities. Do you know which apply to you? If you can figure this out, then you can find other career paths that can offer you the same aspects. |

I just realized how hard it is when you have nothing to look forward to. In silence I'm not really into music I only like investigation and military stuff. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Generally when it comes to trying to snuff out corruption in the world, there are two main important sides: 1. The side that is aggressive and goes after the baddies. 2. The side that rescues and protects vulnerable innocents. Both are extremely important, and the two sides must both be working together to achieve the outcome of a safe and peaceful world or society. Careers that involve hunting down and taking out the baddies must generally exclude those of us with mental illness, because worst case scenario is that we get confused and wind up hurting or taking down innocents on accident. However, careers that involve rescuing and protecting are generally very cool for people with mental illness, because that particular type of heroics won't really 'go wrong' in the case of an episode, we would just be out of commission for a little while until we recover. There are also multiple battlefields, and while some are not as action-packed or glamorous, they are still extremely important. For example, consider political and government corruption, and how it can lead to victims such as people who are homeless. Those people need to be protected and rescued, as well. This could mean a career in social services, where you engage in aggressive outreach and rehabilitation work, or as another example, a career in law where you represent the homeless legally and make sure their rights are being respected and protected. This is a more challenging battlefield than "blow em up with tanks" because it requires a ton of strategy to help people legally. Yet, because you have mental illness, you would be able to understand better than anyone what your clients are going through, while you strategically maneuver through the legal system, relying on the heavy structure to get optimal outcomes. There are just so many possibilities, definitely do not give up. |

Although, if you do like action-packed, frankly working in aggressive outreach-based social services careers is sometimes one of the most dangerous and honorable and frankly, wild lines of heroic work I have ever seen in action.
See the cops at least have vests, armor, weapons - and their job is mostly to just control and persecute in that sort of situation. But the social workers who actually go out on the streets get right into the heart of it all, they bravely go into potentially dangerous territory to find and save people. They do not shy away from those who are mentally unwell, desperate or possibly diseased. They get right in there and get things done. They are some brave, bad*** people. |

How about other jobs where you help people, like fireman, paramedic, doctor etc. If you want to catch baddies then be a prosecutor. There are lots of options.
