Morning guys. So, I am on new 4 meds (I thought I am on 2 APs before, turns out I am on 3 APs-If I am not mistaken, they make me confuse tbh-and depakote-I have no idea what kind of med depakote is), but two of them make me hard to breathe. Then my mom called my Pdoc and told him about it. My Pdoc said cut the dosage of chlorpromazine and risperdal into a half. The other two is safe (seroquel and depakote). But actually they were not only made me hard to breathe, it was really hard to breathe , I thought I was gonna die and so I got panic attack.. I trust my Pdoc but what if after I took them in a half then I would feel hard to breathe again? I am so afraid of taking them now.. I already took the other two that my Pdoc said “safe” but I haven’t took the other two which made me hard to breathe. I supposed to have them now since of all of them are night meds.. Pardon my poor grammar.

I've heard that in vega is weight neutral. Not sure about the other two. I didn't gain weight on Thorazine but I was only on it a couple months.

Depakote is a mood stabilizer.

The meds may be slowing your breathing, then that's triggering a panic attack.

I think your pdoc gave you good advice, but keep monitoring it. If this continues don't hesitate to call back pdoc.
Thanks for this!

Paliperidone (invega) is the major active metabolite of risperidone. So I would imagine they have a pretty similar side effect profile.

Weight gain is certainly fairly common on risperidone, I gained like 20lbs on it.

You could also consider the two new APs approved last year... Cariprazine & Brexpiprazole. The latter is similar to Abilify so might not work well if that didn't but the former could be an option. I'm not sure if your insurance would cover it though, if indeed it is widely available yet...

I guess your p-doc would be the best one to ask about these things though newtus...

.
While this seems right there are other considerations.......a lot of people take invega as an injection so the dose is lower overall and less likely to have an impact on your gut bacteria which is half the problem of AP weight gain. I imagine if you take the pills the weight gain would be comparable....

Well, after all this talk of Zelda... I went ahead & ordered Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D... will be able to pick it up when I get home on Tuesday... can't wait.

I was also looking at the other offerings on 3DS... A Link Between Worlds looks pretty interesting but Tri Force Heroes really doesn't look all that appealing to me.

yea i need to ask my pdoc.
i was just getting like references sort of like from peoples experience on weight neutral meds.
like a mental reference.

yea only problem with new meds is my clinic doesnt seem to, idk, like use them. they seem to have a set of meds they refer to everybody. its not a wide range but a bit of variety. i goto a county clinic not a private psychiatrist. private psychiatrists seem to use more new meds and stuff. idk how me being on medicare effects that but i know state pdocs or at least county pdocs seem to have a set med.

ill ask.

I take Invega and I also gained weight on it on the max dose.
When I cut the dose in half, I lost weight, but it didn't control the voices so I have to take another AP with it.

Stelazine is weight neutral from what I've been experiencing, but because it's so old a lot of doctors don't want anyone to be on Stelazine for a long period of time. I guess there's too high of a risk of side effects.

Really the reality of it is it's different for everyone, you have to try around to find a med that works good for you.

Loial, that's awesome! If you get stuck or forget something try using this: Ocarina of Time Walkthrough ? Zelda Dungeon it helps me out a lot, the Ocarina of Time official paperback guide for the Nintendo 3DS is for some reason around $60 on Amazon, and that's the used price

That's EXACTLY what happened to me. As soon as I read "Risperdal", bingo..

The panic attack was so bad that I went to the ER.

It's such a nasty drug..

actually the funding for mental health went up in texas, according to NAMI. my county is expanding itself, too. making a 24 hour care clinic so people dont have to goto the hospital and they expanded their groups they offer. Greg Abbott is doing some things for mental health i believe. but i doubt its all him.

Thanks! I pretty much exclusively use IGNs online guides for games though. They are really good.

I take it you mean the Prima guide? Those are always really expensive.

Certainly need the guides though... Zelda can get really complicated sometimes!

I'm trying to remember the last time that I played Zelda. Probably around 8-9 years ago. Really looking forward to playing it again, especially with the subtlety upgraded textures etc.

Pretty shocking to think I first played it like 16 years ago or something...

What's everyone up to?

Just having finishing off my last bottle of vodka and my last packet of tobacco for a good while and forever with the smokes. Going to see how I get on cold turkey and if I have cravings I'm going to vape, trying not to switch to it completely though.
Thanks for this!

well its more like "affluenza". his affluency got him out of trouble. he was driving drunk in texas and killed 2-3 people. while injuring others. he got off on probation for 10 years or something.

well he skipped a probation meeting and fled to Mexico with the help of his mom. now hes hired a big name attorney in mexico.

Oh ok I get ya! 10 years probation for killing 3 people drunk driving seems a little lenient alright.
