Hi, i'm just interested in knowing what peoples very first and early symptoms were. Both ones you picked up on at the time and ones you can look back on now and realise it was an early symptom.

Oh course only share what you feel comfortable doing so

Thanks!

My early symptom I remember was seeing shadows out of the corner of my eye all the time. It got worse from there to seeing people etc.

Idk I was depressed at the time so I was depressed, self harming, starving myself, and on antidepressants when I slowly starting looking out windows more thinking people were watching and thinking I had wires under my skin.

I was on antipsychotics for a while with the antidepressants and eventually I thought the meds were poison and flushed them. When my depression and the psychosis were gone I wrote it off and my doctor also wrote it off as the depression or a side effect of the antidepressants.

But then the paranoid and strange thoughts kept coming back every now and then and now here we are.

I had anxiety and paranoia since I was 10 when my parents split. Heard my first voice at 16.

I have always had anxiety but for me the first signs of being different was that I started hearing voices when I was 16
at first I had "paranoid" thoughts after iwas raped when I was 14 but I dont consider that to be from SZ but from PTSD

I thought there was a ghost in my apartment. I tried to follow it around, but I failed. I could tell where it was but the presence of a cold spot.

A few months after this I had a series of really miserable headaches over the course of about a week. Then I woke up around 3 in the morning, and a voice started talking in my head. That was February 7, 2006, and it was the beginning of the end of my old life and the start of horrors beyond counting.

The extreme paranoia that other people were talking about me. Then came the belief that I was being watched and I heard noises no one else could hear.

I'm not quite sure the order all this happened in but I remember walking through my college campus and feeling like everyone was looking at me and talking about me. I also remember feeling paranoid and constantly checking my rear-view mirror to see if a person or an undercover cop was following me. I also went through a phase when I would cry uncontrollably and then that lead to full blown paranoia. I remember telling my friend that my mom hired people to follow me and her reaction was "ok but who cares if people are following you?" It didn't help calm me down. I was paranoid for I believe at least 6 months before I started hearing voices and the night before I started hearing voices I stayed up all night in my room...I just couldn't sleep but that morning felt amazing. I don't know if it is a symptom but I remember looking at glow from the sun shining in the house and I couldn't help thinking about how beautiful everything looked. It looked like it was going to be a great day and since I thought I had gained superpowers I guess it kind of was for me lol.
