But I've never written them down before; just made a mental note of them. So I'm trying this idea out this month:

The lovely little thread of happiness 2 :)

Maybe you guys could do one too? Each day, in one of the sunbeams, you write one thing you're grateful for. I'm doing mine in gold pen, but you could use whatever colours/style you fancy. And then, at the end of the month, you will have a full sun

Finally got around to posting my finished August month's gratitude log:

The lovely little thread of happiness 2 :)

Sorry it took so long!

Has anyone else done one??

Recent trip to a bird centre with my nature group:

The lovely little thread of happiness 2 :)

They let me hold the barn owl, and fly another barn owl, which was really cool!

And another walk in the local countryside with the group:

The lovely little thread of happiness 2 :)

And last week we went to spot deer rutting at a local park, which was interesting too as we went with a local deer expert and so I learnt a lot

I really like my nature group as, though everyone self-identifies as having MH problems, that's not their sole identity like with other MI groups I've attended before (and hated!). There, we are all just nature lovers, and everyone is really friendly and easy to talk to, which is good because I don't have many people to talk to.

Do you have any falconry or bird rescue centres near you? That's where I went and lots of them have the opportunity to do that. The guy who ran this place also had a Harris Hawk who did weddings; flying the rings down the aisle to him to give to the couple.

No I live too much in the city....but that is so cool about the rings....if I ever get married which is unlikely I'm looking in to that.

I live right in the middle of a big city; literally 5min walk from the edge of the city centre shops. Luckily we're surrounded by lovely countryside not that far away (30mins+). The falconry centre was only an hour's drive away.

Chicago though has lots of urban sprawl, you can drive an hour in any direction and still be in the burbs---but I'll look into it....

So beautiful Willow. We don't have falling leaves here, they don't change colors. I love seeing nature in fall, but can only see it on pictures. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't realize you were in South East Asia. Could you tell me a bit about it?

Where did you think I came from? I live in Indonesia, it's the world's largest island country. We have a wonderful nature here with many varieties in flora and fauna. But I live in the capital, with its big city issues like horrible traffic jam, over population, pollution, etc etc

I didn't have a guess but I wouldn't have thought Indonesia.
Living in a big city sounds exciting.

That sucks! I'd hate to live so far from the countryside. What I love about my city is how green it is with so many country parks (old coal mines and quarries) and near the countryside.
