So I been doing a lot of research right... It seems that meds never seek to find a cure and only seek to help suppress the symptoms. My meds cost me 1500$ dollars a month. If there was a cure it would ruin the industry. So since that be the case I have taken to research cures and remedies to help ease the mind, enhance it, and maybe deal with the illness naturally.

I have done research that shows that more people have full recoveries off of meds, then they do on meds. This comes from the world mental health association. Apparently working with the illness naturally is better then dependence of meds.

So anyways I found some herbs to help with schiz and thought i would try them out. Some of them help prevent damage done by AP's as they also increase their effectiveness.

You might wanna check them out.

Panax Ginseng - Panax ginseng is considered good for improving memory, thinking and concentration. In a 2008 study, Canadian researchers found that Panax ginseng helped reduce the some of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, including flat affect (lack of emotional expression) in the patients. It is believed to hit the same brain receptors as antipsychotic drugs.

Gingko Biloba - Ginkgo biloba is being studied by the scientific communities as an adjunctive treatment for schizophrenia as it may help enhance the effectiveness of antipsychotics. It is also believed to protect against neural damage caused by antipsychotics. It is also effective against mood swings and delusions.

Ashwaghanda - Ashwagandha is another calming herb useful for depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders due to its anxiolytic and antidepressant effect.

Bacopa - Brahmi, also called bacopa, is popularly used in Ayurvedic medicine to enhance cognitive ability. Animal studies indicate that it can also help improve schizophrenia. Although the exact mechanism as to how it works is not known, it is believed to help stabilize certain chemicals in the brain. It also exhibits neuroprotective properties.

Eh, i took a multi vitamin, omega 3 fatty oils, and a protein shake every day for 5 years only to be greeted with sz. I will continue to take them because it's good to get a leg up but nature (hereditary) and my environment (nurture) were too strong of forces to overcome with a healthy vegetarian diet with supplements and exercise every day. Sometimes **** happens.
Thanks for this!
Sometimes psychotic

Vitamins, minerals and supplements for schizophrenia include;

B complex;

Thiamine (Vitamin B1):
This vitamin improves a variety of symptoms of schizophrenia.

Niacin (Vitamin B3):

Studies show a 90% recoervy in first year patients, and gradual recovery extending from a 6 month to 5 year full recovery.

Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6):

B6 has been proposed as a general adjunct to antipsychotics.

Folate/Folic Acid (Vitamin B9):

The most recent study has discovered a link between those with a variation of a gene important in metabolizing folate and its effect on negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital followed 140 people with schizophrenia over 4 months and found those with a high-functioning FOLH1 gene responded better to folate (2 mg) and B12 (400 mcg) supplements. This was attributed to better processing of the supplements, resulting in a reduction of apathy, withdrawal, and inability to display emotion. One researcher stated the study results are important since to date, there has been nothing widely accepted shown to work.
Vitamin B9 may also reduce metabolic syndrome (which, among other things, includes cardiovascular changes and weight gain) that some people develop while taking newer antipsychotics.

Cobalamin (Vitamin B12):

When taken with folic acid, it can improve negative symptoms of schizophrenia, perhaps because B12 metabolism is altered in some people with schizophrenia.

Vitamin C

vitamin C reduces oxidative stress and improves the outcome of schizophrenia. Vitamin C reverses ascorbic acid levels, reduces oxidative stress, and improves BPRS score, hence can be used in the treatment of schizophrenia.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D deficiency is associated with more severe symptoms. Observed significant improvement in treatment outcomes utilizing vitamin D 5,000 to 10,000 i.u. once daily as an adjunct therapy.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E has been proposed as a treatment that may help alleviate tardive dyskinesia, a common side effect of antipsychotic medication. Oral supplementation of antioxidants in combination reduces oxidative stress and improves clinical symptoms.

Omega 3 fish oil (EPA DHA)

Benefits of omega-3 fatty acids in averting psychosis seen for years after fish oil supplements stopped being taken. In what is to be believed the first study of its kind, new research has revealed the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil may be effective for reducing the risk of psychosis
