Good morning. Happy weekend!
Slept okay until 4. Nothing going on today. The guys are going hunting so they won’t be around.
I’m pretty excited. I made like $400 this week. Perfect timing with Christmas so close.

I didn't wake up until after 11am. I finished the book my psychologist gave me. Did I already mention that? My memory has diminished since starting to take Seroquel because o fthe receptors it works on. Anyway, I wrote in the back of the book and marked the entire thing up so me any my psychologist have some good stuff to talk about. This bok brought up a lot of interesting points.

Just woke up today, it’s going to be a long day. Work from 12-8. I need to find a healthier coping skill to deal with my self harm impulses. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have any thing you enjoy doing that can provide relaxation?

Some things that helped me in the past when I self harmed were:

Coloring
Playing video games
Watching a funny movie or video
Holding a soothing object like a worry stone
Reading
Writing, especially journalinng
Praying (if you do that)
Putting on a scented candle or melting scented wax, etc. Anything involving pleasant scents you like.
Getting out, going somewhere in public where it's harder to self harm. Museums, libraries, cafe's
Talking to someone or chatting with them
Arts and crafts
Taking a hot shower (not too hot, of course.. cause some use that as s/h)
Cooking a meal
Taking a walk, helpful to clear the mind
Mindfulness meditation or activities
Puzzles

These are some things that helped me. A lot of it is meant to distract or relax

Some people feel that holding an ice cube tightly is helpful.

Another thing I feel is maybe reward yourself with something if you get to a certain amount of time with out self-harming

I just did three questions of my assignment, a couple paragraphs for each question. I'm breaking things up into smaller tasks so it's not so overwhelming. I'm learning a lot from that book I'm reading

One year I made a game hen in a toaster oven because my studio did not have an oven.

That's cool! Mine has an oven but I understand. My mom would always improvise to make sure we had a Thanksgiving dinner no matter where we were living (crappy places lol and homelessness, etc)

Hey everyone, how are things going?

I'm okay. Was depressed and tired earlier, had a headache too. Took some ibuprofen and made coffee and now I'm feeling better.

Gonna be doing an experiment. Gonna go with lactose free diet for a little while to see if my gastrointestinal issues subside. If things get stable then at some point we'll try lactose in again. Not even gonna bother taking this to a doctor. Don't see any point. Just gonna use deductive logic to figure out what is causing the problems.

What's everyone up to?
