Well school starts again soon, and here's the thing...I know I will be a nervous wreck when I get there, but right now I really don't feel nervous. Last year it was awful. I was going back to my old school and scared about what everyone would think of me. Now I'd love to be able to say to someone "kiss my ****" But still the anxiety is there, waiting. I keep buying clothes, getting them at secondhand stores so I can get as many clothes as I can for the price. I know I could buy out half the store and it wouldn't help...doing this is saying I don't feel prepared. I'm going into my sophomore year in high school so I know the school fairly well. But I'm worried about things changing. Can anyone relate?

Beautiful ((((Indie))))

Yes I can relate, but I got mad eventually and did say kiss my **** theres nothing scarier than when a bullied person finally snaps.

The only changes will be your home room and maybe a few teachers. Just glide on in and don't show how you feel, you can bluff it if not make it completely, I believe in you and I know you are more than capable. I offer you my complete support and I just know you will ace it and be really cool,

Love & Hugs,

Rhiannon

It's pretty common, Indy, I don't think you'll be alone in being afraid. I remember when I was a junior and had to move across country from California to Maryland! Talk about being "new" kid at school. It was pretty bad because I had lived in the area from kindergarten through 3rd grade so "knew" some of the kids but we were strangers again by 11th grade, very weird feeling.

I was just reading this article, about college students starting school, maybe it can help some: http://consumer.healthday.com/Article.asp?AID=642430

Ugh...school starts tomorrow and I can already feel my anxiety coming on...it never fails. I know rationally that it will be ok, but my body is telling me the opposite.

I'm sorry that you're going through a tough time Indie!

I'm going into sophomore year as well in seven days, not looking forward to it. What I'm really nervous about is my grades, I didn't do so well last year. I've got a short attention span and I'm scared to death of some of my teachers, plus my old school was a lot easier than the one I'm going to now. Of course, I did just great in English and Japanese, just not Math, History, or Biology.

I'm not big on shopping but what I do is watch an uncanny amount of House episodes. I have no idea how that's supposed to help, maybe it's that the show is just so much more dramatic than my life I can say "well it least it's not like that!" My wife didn't just die, I'm not addicted to vicodin, nobody I know is in the hospital right now, and my good friend didn't just commit suicide. I remind myself that I have to be thankful for all of that, and then high school seems a whole lot better. Of course, then I go into the "damn, I wish I had a friend like Wilson!" rant. Haha.

Anyway, just remember that it's just school, and after this you have your whole life to live. Good luck!
