Can any one else feel the stress ratating from those around you during finals week? and if so what do you do to calm yourself down? What do you do for your own stress?

First off, if you can get away from usual environments where others are stressed (maybe to a branch of the local, county, library you've never been to before?) that helps me. So does taking a walk every now and then and using the time to think or plan. I get some of my best ideas of how to do something or how to understand something when I'm walking (and some people get them in the shower, taking a nice shower and maybe a nap might help?).

There is a libary, I just wonder if it's open again after construction, well I'll find out thank you for your responce. I am also hopping to find a job which will have different stresses around which will be good for me. But I am excited to be going back.

I sometimes study by following links on the computer too; I love it and it "tunes out" what is going on around me because I get so involved. Take a question you want to study, something a text book says or your notes or practice questions, etc. and follow links to links to links, etc. and learn a subject in greater detail than the book/class gives it. I still remember several finals I aced by giving details to support the thesis of my argument, neither of which were covered in class or my texts :-) Professors/Teachers really love it when you show you were doing "extra" research/reading/studying.

I wish I could do that more but with Music it is personal study, meaning lots of practice time in the practice rooms. The computer will be only used every once and a while aka once a day at night after classes and work (I hope). I will try... I'm a music major and I have lots to do and lots to discover about myself and about how I will teach it to my students. And I guess part of it is discovery that I should have been doing all my life. Boy this is going to be an intersting semester.

Maybe you should record or listen to the music you're practicing in the music room:

Stress during finals?

I remember to breathe. Try to limit the amount of caffeine and sugar I consume since they stress out your system more. I try to listen to music too since I like it. Planning ahead for studying if I can - taking time away from other obligations as well.
