I been talking to a lady about my situation hier with my questions regarding my major and career options. I was to make a big decsion about this. I am planning to transfer schools for next fall even though Im so close to finishing. Im psych major and do not want to do therapy work but Im so close to complete the psych major requirments so I stuck with it. I also dont like to quit what I start. Im going to go to a school next fall that has more opportinities for the German major part of it. Where Im at now has no German major, just spanish. The foreign language department hier is bad- 1 reason Im transfering. The requirment for that is I have to study abroad over there minimum of 1 semester to have a major, ok I lived there for the first 6 years of my life, that is my native language lol.... but I still have to study there. So Im going to do that next year. The study abroad program is very good and if I go the plan of teaching German this will help me, being from there and studying there. In short, I have more schooling then I planned for. I was planning to move back to Germany this summer but I want to complete this before I do. My boyfriend is a factor too.

Just want to vent.

With having lived there and if you are fluent in German, unless you really want/need to study abroad at this point for a refresher (see friends/family/travel, etc.), most schools offer the opportunity for life experience accreditation (called different things at different schools) to test out of it.
I travelled extensively in middle school and high school, doing a type of study abroad during the summers in high school. Being an international relations/language major at one point and study abroad being required as well, I was able to do testing in college so I did not have to waste time, yet another semester for a credit I already had the experience. There is usually a fee but it is much less than that of the full credit for that class ($150-400 for the test at the schools that have been too) vs going abroad with full credit hour fees and might save you some time getting you to graduation sooner.
Perhaps this is an option for you to look into. I love to travel but getting done with school at times is more critical. Taking the time for abroad at that juncture for me was not an option as I needed to graduate sooner than later.
Viel Glueck!

(no umlaut available that I can find here. )

What a great opportunity to study at G.I. I can definitely understand why you would want to do this. It is great you have options.

It turns out the umlaut is different on Mac but on the PC, alt 129 works. Will have to find out what it is, never knew that. THANKS! Oooh, found it, 'option' and then the letter you want. Hey. Thanks again.
Meanwhile....

Beste wünsche in allen ihren Bemuhüngen.
