***Bit of a RANT***
Well college has thrown yet another spanner in my plans. I was hopefully supposed to go to Poland and the Ukraine over the Summer to follow Ireland in the Euro 2012, if the gods of money wished it.
However it seems now I HAVE to spend the Summer at an UNPAYED internship... the WHOLE Summer, so now I can't even earn money this Summer for anything because between working 5 days a week for nothing I'll have little time to work for that magic paper I've heard so much about.
I don't even understand why they're making me do this, it's my second year and by the end of the college year I'll still have f**k all knowledge in the field that can be properly applied to a job. I mean, I didn't even get any warning, it was just a "by the way, to pass the year you're going to have to get an internship." Yeah, um, would have been nice if I'd known in September thank you.
And if I do somehow manage to get this job I also have to tell them on the first day that I won't be in for at least 5 days during the Summer that I've planned off and that I'm not cancelling for anyone.
I know if you don't get it this year you still have the chance to do it the Summer after your third year, i.e Summer 2013 for me, and I'm considering just flunking it this year because of the bulls**t way they went about telling me about it. I can do some prep work this year finding someone who'll take me the next year.
Honestly, I'm getting more piss*d with this college everyday.

I wouldn't advise flunking this year, unless you can re-sit. I am having the problem where I am not doing as well as I should be and it is most likely that I will be re-sitting this year. Is there any chance there is a part-time apprenticeship? Where you start now, and then end before the summer so that you could gain the funds to go to Poland and Ukraine?

by flunking I just meant that one subject, and it's not really a subject, just... a thing I have to do, but I do get a chance to do it again the next year if I don't get it or if you actually get fired from it.
The only reason I want to do it the Summer after this is because of how they just decided to dump it on us, I have a boat load of stuff to do this semester and finding someone to take me on to train me is going to be hard as heck.
I wouldn't be so annoyed if they told us at the start of the year, because the first semester was a lighter load and it would have given me an extra 3 months of searching, because it also just can't be any old job, it has to 100% relevant to my course.

Anyway you can get a job/internship relative to your subject area but for Ireland/UEFA?

Always ready to oblige that particular 1/8th portion of my heritage, the 7/8th US/English/Scottish portion is so dull sometimes!
