I tend to procrastinate... studying or doing homework is something I dread and I am a freshman in college... this is not good. What to do?

Come up with a study plan with a reward system in place. Or just force yourself to do it.... (I recomend the first)

first thing to do... join the club lol
Second, I agree with puzzclar a study schedule would help. I try to break it down that I only do one or two of my classes a night, if I try to study all of them together I get sick of it and give up. The college library is a good place to study too, once I get in there I always end up doing something. Or if you can find someone to study with it would be good too.

I study better at the library too. Take a five minute break for every 20-30 minutes of studying.

You'll find what works for you. First year, I pulled a lot of all nighters, but always said no to a party if it was 2 or less days till an essay, or assignment that was due, and I'd never drink the night before an 830 class!
Also, if the library doesn't do it for you, abandoned classrooms, or odd places on campus are always good. Or the local pub, or coffee shop, either on or off campus. I agree with Puzzclar, I'd like to know what you find works for you. ![]() Best of luck!

Find something to get curious about or interesting in your studies; maybe start each study session with a bit of web surfing about the subject until you find something you want to know more about and then go back and forth between the books/reading and the Web, just sponging up stuff. If you have problems to work, form/join a study group with others in that class so you can do them together at a set time and help each other.
