This semester has been a mess; I have been out sick dealing with doctors and treatments and I am so far behind. The weeks have gotten away from me and realized yesterday that I have a physics and biochem test on Tuesday. This morning I initially woke up thinking, ok, 4 days, it will be ok. Then I realized, it is only 4 days for all this material. Ever get that sick to your stomach feeling? Meanwhile, I canceled all the appointments and treatments for today and Monday for more time, but the stress is overwhelming, so much material. I'm frozen with fear and don't know where to begin. I have to get started on this somehow. Oh my gosh, this is going to be a disaster. Any encouragement or recommendations would be MUCH appreciated right now as I am so low and not sure if I can do this or pull this out.

You can do it!
And you should first calm a bit and take it by steps, find out what information you actually need and make notes highlight the important things and try to understand what you read, remember: what you understand you dont forget ![]() ![]() |

I always find I'm more focus at the library or a place where I can take my computer where there's no internet (tricky, I know). Without the internet, I'm forced to focus. Also, in a library, just being around other people doing work, helps motivate me to do work.
I agree with and I'm still here, try to make a list of things you need to know or chapters you need to go over. Start at the beginning and work your way through. Maybe work for an hour, then reward yourself with a 15 minute walk outside or a snack. I use a lot of post it notes and flash cards. I know it's hard, but try to focus without panic (I know how hard this is.. I'm working on it right now...). Maybe try to spend some time each day on both subjects. Is there any way you can get one of your exams moved to a different day? Maybe try sending the professor an email asking to change the date because you've been sick. Maybe with notes from your doctors, they'll be more willing to move it if you've been unable to study properly. The notes don't have to say what you're sick with. Good luck! I'm going through something similar, so I feel for you. Try to keep your head up and don't be too hard on yourself! ![]() |

Thank you for the support and the reminders! I had completely lost it in panic and really appreciated it. I sat down starting in 20 minute increments and going for an hour on each subject, then switched subjects to make sure I had equal time on both. Took mini breaks and then used bigger ones to go out, walk, play with the dog, etc. to try to bring the stress down. I think I got a lot accomplished and still nervous for tomorrow, but in a much better position than was before.
I absolutely have to pay more attention this next time around and not let the days slip so badly. I am normally not a last minute person and this has to change back; it's just too stressful. Thank again y'all, truly. ![]()

Thanks. With break next week, the profs said they will get not get to grading until sometime then.
![]() ![]() Not knowing how it came out, I used the time to finish rewriting my notes that had not been done yet and putting them in a way I understood. I already use the Cornell method so I just needed to keep reading over the notes covering the right side of the page until I could remember them. I thought about potential essay questions for the one exam thinking about where she spent the most time and emphasis, and one of them turned out to be right on which was nice. I reworked the physics problems using the formulas, and manipulating them, then found some more online to work with for more practice. So we'll see. Will let you know how it comes out, for better or worse. Here's to better!
