I may have overloaded my brain this semester, after taking almost year off I dove right back in by taking the full credit max for the summer semester. So, in the fall I am opting for only 2 classes since I completely bombed the entire summer semester.

I don't know what it is but I will dive right into the material at the beginning of every semester and will even be interested in doing it. But, by the halfway point I dont know what happens I will lose the interest and can barely even force myself to do the work, what is up with this?

I get that too, I think it's something to do with the fact that at the beginning of the semester it's new and interesting, but then you just get sick of it because it's more of the same old stuff after a while.
You're quite lucky though that you have the choice of only taking certain classes at a time, it can break it up and make the semester more manageable, hope it all goes well for you in the coming semester.

If you don't use the material for your own purposes, don't fit it into your life, so-to-speak, then you are just in love with the idea of newness and starting over, etc. You have to interact with the material over time; wrestle with it, love it, hate it, take it apart and put it together in a different order, wonder about it, question it, talk back to it. . .
