Hey !
Right now I am heading towards grade-9 and I have to choose between taking IGCSE or SAT.... Few days ago I was concerned and convinced about taking the IGCSE (which is harder) but then I found that almost all of my friends are taking the Sat one as it is easier.. So now I am confused about what to take? and if I chose the IGCSE will I be good at it?
Hope someone helps me out ...

I guess it would depend on if/where you wanted to get higher education? I don't know of any U.S. colleges, for example, that request or accept the IGCSE (but then, I'm not familiar with what international students are required to show for education background) but if you are staying in Saudi Arabia or its environs (or Europe, etc.), that might be a good/better choice than the SAT's. If I had the choice, I'd take both better show what I could do or what I needed to work on, etc.

I have both my U.S. State driver's license and the International Driver's license; it makes things easier and provide additional proof of identity! Taking both tests if you can, might help you in a similar way; show your "versatility" better :-)

I am only familiar with the SAT. Where do you plan on going to college? It would be helpful, I think, to see what test scores those schools require. Here in the US the SAT is the one most schools look for. Students take the PSAT during their junior year and the "real" SAT sometime during their senior year, early enough to get the results sent to the schools they are interested in. It can be taken more than once here, so probably an earlier time for the first attempt is good. Then, if you don't score as high as you'd like, then you can re-take it.

As I say, though, this information holds for the United States.....
Thanks for this!

It seems that I would either take IGCSE or both cuz most probably i will have my higher education in Egypt and it allows students with both certificates and for taking precautions I might take both...
Thanks for helping me

Cairo University, for a foreign student, does not mention needing either test:

Search them to see what you would be required to have? http://cu.edu.eg/ar/Home

Sorry my Arabic isn't very good (none!). When Google translated the pages I was surprised and had a little trouble working the drop down boxes right to left instead of left to right!
