Hello. I would like to know, how do you know if you're normal in intelligence, or smart, or brilliant, or genius?
I have many friends calling me smart or brilliant. I guess, in a way, I am. But, I could feel there's something more to me. Not that I'm saying I'm a genius, but I somehow torn between classifying myself either as a genius or actually "stupid". I know it sounds weird, well IT IS but, well, just answer my question or else I'll confuse you more than needed. Thanks. |

Very subjective, I would say a humble person would not say that he is smart, there is much more to that. Theorists say that intelligence covers many aspects, like logic, interpersonal, linguistics, like which category. Not just mathematicians. Some go with IQ scores, some say it is the ability to 'go with the flow' with your surroundings... (socially? well in that case I am not intelligent!) Some will say you're a genius if you find a cure for cancer. For me, it is such a general term, for example, I wouldn't say " I am smart in science" I would say "I scored X% better than all people who took that exam"
Don't classify yourself, human beings are always learning |

IQ tests have their limitations, but technically they are used to make the distinctions. And if you score a certain level on the Mensa test (which can be found on the Internet), then you could receive a "genius" distinction and be able to join the Mensa group of geniuses.
I'd say, in general, go with what your friends say, in this case! ![]() ![]() |

As already mentioned, determining one's intelligence isn't straight-forward. The terms of "smart", "brilliant" and "genius" are completely subjective, so even if I were to classify myself, I don't know the differences between each of them. I can say with confidence though that there are some areas I'm very proficient in, whereas others I'm average in and others I'm downright horrible in. As a result, after I find out what the subjective meanings and differences are between the different categories, I wouldn't know how to assign myself into 1 distinct category, it would be easier to assign each subject area into its own category.

I, for some reason believe everyone is genius.
Technically, you can't determine how intelligent, genius, smart, brilliant etc you are.. even those f8cking stupid IQ tests have their faults.. I've done quite a few IQ tests online that appeared to be confirmed and approved by experts and I seemed to score high in all of them but you can't trust obsolete IQ tests, most of them just make you determine geometric patterns. |
