I am in my last semester as an ungrad and I have been so anxious with all the graduate school prep and applications. And the looming date of having to find a job or internship or something to move forward. My anxiety is no debilitating but it does make me awkward in some social situations especially NEW ones where I know no one. The job I have now I got because I knew someone who worked there. I have been there for two years now. I have been so nervous about failing in the search for a career after graduation or internship to do while in graduate school. I am now more optimistic because instead of setting my expectations so high. I decided I would start small and just volunteer in a related field in order to gain experience without the anxiety of not being accepted. Moving in a positive direction. I have the volunteer orientation on Wednesday :-)

That's a great idea and a great first step! Congrats on the Volunteer orientation! And hey, you never know, volunteering could turn into a job! But either way, it'll look great on your resume and provide you with letters of reference when you need them! Good job!!

Smart idea, instead of just sitting around worrying. Of course, in the meantime, keep applying, but at least you are getting some experience. It's so frustrating when people are told they need experience, but then no one will hire them because they don't have experience!
