I am in my first semester in school right now. I've got a big project due and some mega homework for tomorrow. I got assigned the homework today, but got the project assigned about 2 weeks ago and have part of it finished already.

Rather than stress myself out, I've decided to go ahead and finish the homework and the project tomorrow and turning in my work late (it's 10 percent off) for each assignment. In order to finish tonight, I would have to stay up all night (I did that last night because I was not focused and had too much energy). Should I write my instructor a note? I know I have to call in tomorrow morning to let the school know why I am out. I love school, and that is why I hate to not be there tomorrow, but with my mania acting up as well as my anxiety, there is like no way that I can actually focus on much right now.

I was wondering if I should also write to my instructor and let her know via email what is going on? I wrote her before, however, I think she hit the delete button when she got to my email...at that time, she might not have recognised it.

Would sending her an email be a bit overkill?

Also need some hugs!

Thanks everyone!

I would just send everyone an email saying you're out today (if you have to call school, call and leave a message on the answering machine?) finishing up your work/project. Won't you get more homework assigned today? Not good to put off homework or you can get really behind.

Yeah, I stayed home today and got some good rest. I am still a bit manic but I got today's homework done, still finishing up on my project and I even called a school buddy to get my homework due tomorrow.

Don't intend to get anymore behind, but this fast paced class can really be difficult.

I think I am going to go the ADA accommodations route as this fast paced stuff is really killer.

I do think it would be good if you would be allowed a break/cut some slack. I don't think it would hurt to ask. And I suggest you always keep your professors informed about what's happening with you. At least they would have a chance to be understanding.

I hope things settle down soon. I know from my own experiences how stressful school can be....
