I have a bunch of assignments to do but I don't feel like doing them.
I either get on the phone and waste time, or I just sit there stairing at the screen thinking about everything other than the assignments.
Lately I haven't been feeling well, but I have to keep up my work ethic.
Any tips?

All I can suggest is take it slow. Convince yourself to work for 15 minutes and then take a 5-10 minute break. I wouldn't say less than 15-20 minutes work or you won't retain any of the information. And then slowly as you feel you are able to start increasing the work time between breaks.

I found that this could often work for me when I just couldn't be bothered. I could convince myself that it wasn't that long to work and I could then go back to fun things for a bit. It was slow but the assignments did get in

It also helped to remove distractions while I was trying to work - quiet location, no phone, no other noises that could distract me from what I was doing.

I found that going to a coffee shop and leaving my phone in the car helps. Then I can't play on the computer since it's at home. There's no TV to watch. No novels to read - only what I brought. Since i'm in public, I can't take a nap. Yes, I could go to the library and accomplish the same thing, but I like to have something to sip on. A bit of a compulsion of mine...

break it down. Figure out exactly what you need to do. If you have a lot going on, it's easy to just say that you don't know what to do and not do anything. Reward yourself too for getting things done. Like, "if I finish this, I can have 10 minutes of facebook time" or something like that.

Thank you guys so much. The idea of going into public sounds good.
But its true I have a tendency to do everything at once, I should give myself a break.

You can do only one thing at a time. I often feel I should be doing more than I am doing and end up trying to do everything at once. I obviously can't do everything at once, but I end up thinking about everything at the same time. It feels like too much of a luxury to allow myself to think about only one thing at a time. I have this irrational belief that I can only get everything done if I think about everything at once. Pretty silly, huh, because I end up getting absolutely none of my tasks done. I only succeed in getting myself incredibly worked up and adding to the normal stress of school and all my other obligations.
