Aw honey
![]() Maybe try online classes first! I have also dropped out due to my bulimia and suicidal ideation and am scared to go back, but I'm trying to look at it as a fresh (medicated) start where I can do even better than before. Best of luck angel, and congrats on your little one! xo |

Hi, mizzrocio, and welcome to Psych Central! Are you thinking your taking meds during pregnancy caused your child's birth defect? If so, then use really good birth control and go back on your meds. You might not be able to breastfeed, though--and it's true that some of these meds can cause birth defects, but only when the mother takes them while pregnant. That's my understanding, anyway.
So, I suggest you start back on your meds and go back into your program. ![]() ![]() |

Hi mizzrocio,
I know everyone is different, but I have schizoaffective (and PTSD) and would never choose a major that socially involved. I mean, do you ever suffer from slow brain functioning or alogia? I genuinely never want to crush a dream, but can't help but see potential roadblocks. I've been in school for five years, now, and not dropped a single course regardless of my condition at the time, but the way I was able to do that was through research and more research and making serious effort to avoid exacerbating my own symptoms. Are you absolutely sure this major/program is going to make sense over the long term when you genuinely consider your disability? |
